Oh hey guys i am new to this forum, i just made an account today to ask a simple question that hopefully you'll answer. Ok so basically i am in high school, i am in the grade 10. So basically i got my amphetamine prescription about a month ago and they prescribed me 10 mg of dexidrine spansules. I actually dont have adhd but i got to say it was so easy faking it, i cant believe they give it this drug like candy tbh. Any who i am not a stupid teen trying to get high on drugs or using this drug for recreational uses, but simply to study. Okay so first off my science mark:%96 History/Social studies:%92 English:%75 Spanish:%74. As you can see i am very bad at the languages section, i am good at everything else including math except English and Spanish and i am worried. Im doing so well that im advanced in science that next semester i am in bio 11 since im just so good. But you see this mark of English and Spanish is bringing me down and universities look at these marks and i cant afford to be doing so bad at these subjects if i want to become a pharmacist in the future.

So basically what im asking is, if anyone like me out there ever used this drug, do you think that it will significantly help me do better in my english and spanish class?

2 question is: can you guys give me your experiences in what this drug feels like and what it will do?

3 question: should i take this drug and cut it in half since im only 110? (afraid ill get heart attack or something lol)

4 question: How many times per week should i take this drug to study?

Keep in mind i have the bottle of dexidrine in my kitchen but i did not use it yet since i want to know your guys opinions first.

okay so here's the deal...adderall gets its reputation as "the study drug" because tons of college students use it to stay up all night and cram for a test after they've been out partying all week/weekend. in most cases it helps you stay awake and do a ton of work because you've put it off for so long...it will NOT make you "better" at any subjects you're struggling with. i also want to point out that dexedrine and adderall are not the same, and dexedrine has a higher potential for abuse. so..
honestly? no i don't think it's going to help you do well in spanish and english. i'm a perfectionist and i understand the need to excel at everything, but unless you are having trouble focusing or you are really behind in these subjects, it's not going to help. you would be better off getting a tutor or just setting aside some extra time to study. you also said you were concerned about college so let me say that it's much better to learn better study habits at your age than to learn how to rely on a drug not meant for you (which will make your future education pretty miserable). it can also increase anxiety and make you focus on things other than school work. people also report difficulty speaking on amphetamines, so keep that in mind if you have oral exams in spanish.

i doubt this is the answer you're looking for and when i was your age i would not have listened to this, so if you're going to take it anyway just take a really small dose lol

Hello,

Firstly I do not endorse the use of amphetamine if you do not have a medical condition that warrants such medication.

That aside, whether you have adhd or not, amphetamines will increase concentration and alertness in anyone. In people who actually have adhd, therapeutic doses of such drugs normalise the dopamine transmission in the pre frontal cortex over time. In non adhd persons, you may actually cause more harm than good.

Be wise and be careful. Amphetamines are no joke!

I highly doubt this no offense, but people in Ib (international baccalaureate) use it. Its basically an honor class containing only 30 people. Any who im not in it never tried out im fine with normal classes. One girl in IB said she uses it to get $hit done, and it also helps her with english class (shes asian and bad at english). She also said it helps with memory from her experience. Oh and she does not have adhd. So clearly you have never done amphetamines since your telling me a diffrent story from her.

Helps with memory? Maybe it helps for like 2 days and then you forget it all again. Mainly used for cramming all night for a test, staying up late to do homework, and staying awake in tests.

i know because i also got a prescription when i was in high school to bring my grades up in a few classes (senior year though). Started on Ritalin, switched to Adderall, then went back to Ritalin because i liked it way more. Both did exactly the same things for me though. Yes, it did bring my history grade up from a 36% to a 91% and my english grade from a 65% to an 85% but it definitely did not help me remember anything and didn't help me "do better" in the classes, all it did was let me stay up untill 4:30AM every night for 6 weeks in a row doing damage to my sleeping patterns but allowed me to get all my homework caught up before graduation. Also helped me stay awake during my finals which i was never able to do before and helped me take more notes in the classes to study later.

But taking it before 1st period every day, maybe not the best idea in the world depending on your class shedule. Here's how an average day for me would go:

I would get to school and take my pill at the drinking fountain just before first period every day.

First period i was tired for half of it and started to focus better towards the second half.

Between first and second period would listen to a bit of Danny Brown during passing period and would quite literally be partying in my seat with sweat dripping down my face all throughout second, third, and the beginning of fourth period.

Fifth, sixth, and seventh i would be quite focussed and much more creative (good thing because i had art class in there).

Seventh, eighth, and ninth i'd be sleeping in study hall on my crash.

And now that i've been taking them for over a year, i'll make you a pros and cons list about these pills as well throughout my experience with them.

Pros:
sole reason i graduated high school
helps me stay awake during college and work
they're pretty fun/euphoric
not something i would recommend doing but i may or may not sell a few of my extras at the end of the month for cash.
makes me feel like i fit in with the croud a bit better having them (not a very good sign about America)
definitely boosts my sociability and helps me meet new people easier
almost cured my social anxiety
helped me lose 35 pounds over the past year
took me out of the running for the draft for the military (they don't take people labeled as ADHD)
and helps me clean my house in like 10 minutes. Lol

Cons:
forgot everything i learned in my senior year because it helps cram for tests but kills long term memory
turned me into an insomniac to the point where i now need Remeron to put me to sleep
I now get occasional obsessive behavior over completely random things
i freak out to the point of breaking stuff when doctors threaten taking back my prescription
when taken in the night, i sometimes get hallucinations similar to meth thinking i'm seeing animals around/inside me
I now sometimes get random panic attacks
Kills my appetite (not a good thing for a diabetic like me)
Has been making me strongly consider trying meth and coke (definite gateway drug)
Almost gave me a heart attack on my first few times on it
makes me very aggressive on the comedown

please don't come here for advice and then rejecting it when people take the time to respond to you with factual answers to your questions. that's rude. if you know so much about it and we don't, why are you even bothering to ask and assume someone who has a different opinion than you hasn't used the drug? you've heard about it from one or two people and think you can dismiss information and that's not very logical. i'm just not sure what you want if the advice you're given isn't ''true'' to you.

Alright thanks guys very helpful! thanks for the information, and i think im gonna try it :) thanks again for all the people who answered and took your time, much appreciated!
