So a little bit of background about myself, I have ADD. I'm not one of those people who was just labelled as ADD, and doesn't really have it. I am one who can not stand still. When I am smoking or checking my phone, I am usually pacing around. Or when I am standing still I am rocking back and forth. So I really do have ADD. Anyway I was prescribed Concerta 80 mg for a long portion of my life, I wanna say about 9 years. I haven't taken concerta in 3 or 4 years, but before that I was taking it everyday. So the point of all this is to bring up a question about how people might experience the Adderall high. Do you think that somebody who has strong ADD, will experience Adderall high differently? This is my first time taking adderall, and I took 30 mg (IR), and so far I feel almost nothing. I have absolutely no experience with uppers other than taking concerta for those 9 years. It's been about an hour since i took it. Which brings up another question, is it because I have a background in taking uppers for my ADD, that I might not feel the full effects of adderall? What has been your guys experiences with taking adderall, especially those who have ADD?

You might experience it differently. I also too apparently have ADD and when I was on Adderall I would sometimes actually fall asleep while on it, or I had no trouble sleeping on it even if I had taken it earlier in the day.

Okay, but this is my first time using Adderall. And I haven't used Concerta in 4 years. My initial dose was 30mg at 7:15, redose 30mg at 9:15 and last redose of 30mg at 10:02. I feel more zoned and a little bit more energetic. But there is no eurphoria and I'm not over the top hyperactive, I'm still easily distracted just like I am normally.

my doctor was telling me that adderall normally works for the majority of people with severe add (statistically I don't know how much truth there is in that, but he's a doctor so I'll give time that), but also told me for some people it just requires the "right" type of stimulant.

I have a friend who swears on strattera (sp?) Which from my knowledge is not a stim. I hate tried it for a month or two but hated it and did not work.

So maybe you should talk to your doctor about trying different avenues of different med, because while he could prescribe you upwards of 60 mg of adderall a day in hopes it might work, I just personally don't think that is Healthy. I take 20 mg xr And if I take 30 mg ir, I get really euphoric and super speedy. So personally I feel like if you took 90 mg in under even a day and don't feel anything, then it's probably not the medication for you. If I go on a binge and try to get really high I might take 100mg throughout a whole day.

To answer your other question, I have add pretty bad (to the point it was really negatively effecting my life) and adderall completely helped me. I can actually function on a day to day basis with out looking like a complete lunatic. On the other hand, concerta did nothing for me except make me feel like I slammed a whole pot of coffee. Way too speeded out and absolutely no help with attention. Also had many negative peripheral side effects.

If youre looking to get high, I feel like if you didn't already with 90 mg you should fine a different drug, and if you're really looking for medicine that helps treat your condition then just be honest with your doc and start trying different meds till one works.

Sorry for how long this was. Hope I helped a little anyways.

Okay, thanks for your post. Partially because it helped me realize that my intention wasn't clear in the original post. And for taking your time to share your experience. Concerta made me into a completely different person, as well as over stimulate me too. Concerta doesn't seem to be helpful for those with ADD. So to clear something up, I took the Adderall with the intention of getting high. So my question was how the high might affect someone who has ADD differently (I corrected my OP). I took 90mg total over 3 hours. Your post made me wonder if there is such a thing as a right pill for me, not just with stimulates. What I mean is, Adderall has a few different kind of stimulates in it. Amphetamine sulfate being one of them. So if the stimulate amphetamine doesn't work on me, does that mean that all the uppers with this ingredient (or in the phenethylamine class) likely won't work on me? I am really starting to wonder if it's the medication that doesn't work for me, or just my body. I have the same problem with opiates, I stopped taking them because I gave up. I got to the point where taking 500mg of morphine at once, was what I needed for an hour high (as well as pain relief). I started off with Oxy and built my way up and ended up using heroin, but no matter what my body seemed to metabolize opiates too quickly so the high would be really fast, and on top of that, I build a tolerance ridiculously (!) quick. I am starting to think that for some reason my body doesn't take certain types of drugs well. So far it's happened with opiates and uppers (ironically my body is sensitive to coffee). I mean I really don't understand the biology behind this type of occurrence, and it frustrates me to high hell. Not only for when I am attempting to get high, but also when I take medication for an on-going neck injury. Do you think it's just my body telling me it doesn't like those certain drugs?

You're lucky the body has innate mechanisms to prevent self-abuse. 90 mg dose taken in the span of 3 hours will send virgin user to ER with following symptoms. Tachcardia, palpitations, high blood pressure, hyperventilation etc. etc. I said it before I'll say it again 30 mg is the best dose for safe rec use higher doses lead to ACUTE tolerance thank god and myriad other side effects. No this isn't some be sad BS this is the truth. Y

No greater euphoria with 40 50 60 + mg dose. Do you know anything about concept of rapidly diminishing returns??? I think not. 30 mg max dose in 4 hours to prevent sure fire burnout syndrome......

Yeah I know some people that have something like your case (not to that extent but...) where drugs don't effect them as much as they do me. But still, 90 mg in three hours and no high... I don't think you're going to get high off of them. And 500 mg of morphine. Damn man. That'd send me to the hospital for sure! Haha. I don't know how else to help.

How is your body overly sensitive to coffee?

I'm overly sensitive to both amphetamines, and opiates, and I get effects from both at low doses that most people would get a moderate or high doses. But I no longer use either, and I found with even taking a low dose of amphetamines for ADD I did develop a tolerance but I was taking 5-10mg or sometimes at rare times 15mg orally. When I dabbled with opiates I did not get any tolerance but I would itch and nod from 5mg of oxy, and really nod from 10mg of oxy which I only took once or twice.

Addicted

I have ADD as well and am currently prescribed Adderall XR 30mg x 2 a day. One 30mg capsule originally improved my entire quality of life. From concentration to overall mood, I was truly uplifted by the drug. I slowly began increasing my dose because I felt as if they weren't working as well (I knew it was a building of tolerance). I started taking them about 3 months ago and am now fully addicted to them. I'll easily blow through 150mg a day, and do this about 4-5 times a week. Eventually, most of the positive effects began to diminish, so I decided it was time to take more. Nowadays I take my Adderall because i physically and psychologically have to if I need to be any sort of productive.
It's a great drug that works for its intended purpose. Just use it in moderation.

Yeah I don't know if lucky is what I would call it right now. It freaking sucks. Yeah I'm not going to abuse it anymore. I just snorted 120mg and nothing happened.

When I drink coffee I basically get the same effects that one would get from amphetamines, except for euphoria and tingles. I can't drink it because it also upsets my stomach on top of acting like a crack head. Damn you're the complete opposite. I guess both have their pros and con's. Did you ever snort adderall? Do you know, or anybody, if there's a general rule of waiting after snorting?

Nope I never snorted adderall. I did however snort Ritalin once. Just 15mg, and it was odd since it made me feel as though I had allergies or was sick temporarily as I hated the drip and putting a powder up my nose, and I would have periods during the night when I just stayed up all night reading where I would feel the medication working, and then other times where I would feel basically sober and it would go back and forth between the two for about 5-6 hours. I tried replying to your PM but your inbox is full.

Yeah I think I might have waited too soon before blowing my nose (I waited 10-15 mins). I'm pissed I wasted all that money, damn it. Yeah the drip was pretty aweful for adderall too. It burned my throat, and annoyed the hell out of my nose. Oh that's really weird. I only had three things in my inbox. I deleted them so try now.
