Stimulants adderall completely ineffective

I was recently diagnosed with adhd. Dr. gave me a prescription for 10mg generic adderall ir, mfg barr. I tried one and took a nap, I was already tired. Im 6'' 165lbs. I've never taken any kind of stimulant before.


I tried 30mg a couple times and got absolutely nothing. Tried it on empty stomach and sublingual. No side effects either. No impact on bp, hr, sleep, or hunger.


I was a little frustrated and took 60mg today. Absolutely no effects at all. I want to use the medicine for therapeutic effects. I am not seeking a high but would like to achieve a noticeable effect.


Anybody have suggestions for other stimulant meds that might work better. I do not want to take a higher dose of adderall and I would like to take a standard therapuetic dose of a med that works.
 
If amphetamine doesn't do anything to you, you could ask to switch to either methylphenidate (Ritalin, concerta) or atomoxetine (Strattera). They have slightly different mechanisms of action, so you might have better luck. 60mg of amphetamine, even racemic amphetamine, should have been noticeable but for some people it just doesn't work.
