Hello,

I've got a few questions about speed and adderall...Hope you can answer :D

First of all, I'm taking adderall xr 20mg (Been on this kind of medication for 12 years)

My first question is...do i need a "higher" dose of amph since i've been taking adderall/ritalin for a LONG time OR does it affect me more in
some way??
For exemple, last weekend, i went to a rave with a friend..we both took 2 pills (Ice http://www.pillreports.com/index.php?page=display_pill&id=16094) (with about 2 hours difference) but i was WAY WAY more "speedy" than him (It was his first time taking amph and it wasn't my first time.)

Is it dangerous to "mix" both? (For exemple..taking some speed at a rave and the next morning taking my adderall pill like everyday?)

Last question, since i have ADHD i know that my heart beats really fast does that means it is more dangerous if i take any kind of amph (Beside my medication)?

Hope some of you can answer theses questions! Oh and sorry for the language..my english isn't perfect ;)

Since you are taking an amphetamine each day, taking another amphetamine will increase your "speadyness" to a higher point than that of people that are not on an amphetamine medication. Your base level is starting off higher since amphetamine is already in your system, so adding to it will make you more wired than others.

Lets say that the speed would put someone at a level 5 high. Well, since you have some amphetamine in your system, you are already at a 3, so that 5 more is putting you are a level 8 high, whereas somebody else is just at a 5. These are just hypothetical examples.

It can be more dangerous because of this, but you also have a tolerance to amphetamines, so it can work either way (may affect you more, or less). Remember to stay hydrated when taking amphetamines, and make sure you eat something too.

It would depend on when you last took your prescription as well as if it is XR or IR, but Tommyboy's logic is solid. Like he said, you've got a higher tolerance than your friend does but you're also more stimulated at your baseline. Because you're combining amphetamines you need to be very mindful of your body's condition, and make sure you're cool enough and drink a lot of water.

And, as a fellow ADD/ADHD patient, I wouldn't worry too much about your heart rate, although it's always good to keep an eye on that when you're using stimulants, especially long-acting ones. As long as it doesn't spike above about 150 or 160 (Don't quote me on that, it's just a rough estimate, but I did lean on the conservative side with it) you shouldn't have to worry.

This article could provide some insight into what's going on with prolonged amp exposure and the regulation of DA receptors in your brain.
