I am well familiar with anabolic androgenic steroids and thier long-term effects on strength and power. What I am looking for is a drug, recreational or otherwise, that helps get me "in the zone" for my heaviest training session of the week and competition. This is something I would take about once per week.

For 10 years, I used tramadol and mild opioids for this purpose with great success. Unfortunately, various life stressors got the best of me and I went from using once or twice a week to daily use and became totally dependent a couple of years ago. I am not on suboxone, so opioids to ehance performance are out.

I have tried various ADHD drugs (amphetatmines, etc.) and these do NOT work for me. Maybe at a very low dose, for the first 45 minutes, they help a bit, but ultimatley I find they decrease physical perfromance. I have increased performance anxeity, I get horrible muscle cramps, overheat, pace and procrastinate, and can literally become crippled by fear. Plus the skyrocketing blood pressure isn't the best. So amphetamines do not suit my purpose. Maybe they are good for getting a big project done at work, but not getting into the zone to pull a PR.

Any ideas out there? Stimulants in general are not my preferred route. Even noradrenergic stimulants like phentermine or ephedrine tend to do little more than cause capillaries in my face to bust open and increase anxiety (althought not as much as amphetamines).

I am looking for something that causes a calm, confident feeling WITHOUT sedation. Maybe a slight mood lift, but not "high." And I plan to limit my use to these specific purposes to avoid physical dependence. Thanks.

Steroids. Test suspension, halotestin, etc. Those pre contest can help. I can't really think of something that will calm you without sedating you. Maybe a mild stim? Like 500mg of hordenine followed by 1500mg of PEA 15 minutes later. This will also create euphoria though. Piracetam too may help...

Getting a blowjob always lifts my spirits but I do tend to get a little lazy afterwards. lol

Do you have personal experience with test suspension? I have taken long-acting esters to improve recovery, but have never noticed any CNS effects. I have heard anecdotally that test suspension has immediate, acute effects on performance, but wasn't sure it this was real. I can try it.

Test suspension is supposed to be painful as fuck as essentially the mix is crashing right away. Test no ester will give the same effect with less pain.

Same thing...
One is in water the other in oil but it's the same stuff.
yep yep. I've read some reports saying test suspension was like a mule kick to the injection site though it could just be the product of a given lab. Theres a few reports of people who said there was no pip with prop which is surprising to say the least lol.

Thank you for saving me the hassle. I personally do not experience ANY acute performance enhancement from a relatively high single dose of, say, Sustanon. 750 mg at once is a high dose for me. I tried a mg once and was dumping oil out of my face for days. It was gross. No acne, just greasy. . For the next 24 hours, I will be prone to muscle cramps when I lift heavy. It is about 5-7 days later I feel stronger. So I guess I will have to learn to get into the zone using centering and techniques to quiet inner chatter and negative thoughts. I was hoping for a short cut--it has become my pattern the last few years. For the first 10 years of my competitive sports career, I never took a dose of any performance enhancer (anabolic, stimulant, whatever). Now I have gone the complete opposite direction--relying on drugs for motivation, focus, and recovery. Prolly need to rethink that.

A friend once got drunk before running some run that determined if he passed or not.
He passed.

My theory, it masked the pain from shin splints

I used to run long runs while high on heroin as I would just zone out and then id be done.

Estered steroids won't give you any acute enhancement. Removing the ester takes time.
Another idea, adrenaline/epinephrine shots ? Be careful though, I'd start at 0.3 mg and work my way up.

Doesnt adrenaline/epinephrine raise corisol levels? Couldnt this result in negative effects.

Not sure if it does, he would use it only during his competition anyway. Once or twice a year is OK I guess.
