Has anyone made one of these? How was it?

I've been watching random YouTube videos from the tour and the crowds seem pretty high energy. They also seem pretty young and clubbish.

I won't be getting dressed up and I won't be doing my hair. I also won't be wearing cologne. I will just be there for the music and the overall experience!

Jaytech is opening and I believe the show starts at 10:30P.

I haven't been to an EDM event in probably 8 years and I am heading up to Chicago next weekend to see A&B at the House of Blues!

Booked a hotel room within 0.1 miles of the venue this week. Planning on getting in to Chicago mid-day Friday so I can enjoy spending some time in Millennium Park prior to partaking on some pre-show festivities. Hopefully it doesn't rain!

I definitely plan on hanging out in the bar for a few drinks prior to the show. Are most people at these shows even of drinking age?

The day after I plan on getting up and eating a nice lunch and then heading to the Art Institute.

Ready to get down!

Sounds cool man. I saw Above & Beyond at an event in socal back in 2009. It was very high energy. A lot of the people there were under 21, but I think that's pretty common for socal events (at least at that point in time). The few gigs that I saw in Chicago had a very different vibe to the socal scene.

I'll be at the show you're talking about at HOB Chicago. I would say that the House of Blues is going to be a mixed group age wise, but a lot of people under 21. If you see a show at the MID it is 21+ (I prefer shows at the MID). The HOB tends to be a younger crowd. It will be a good time.

Levictus- What was the main difference between the Socal and Chicago music scenes? And do you live in the Ukraine now?

In Chicago I mostly went to smaller underground events. A few of them were held at the Abbey - I really liked the crowd there, even though the lights weren't all that good.

Socal had a more commercial vibe to it, but then again, that's the kind of events I went to there (massives basically). I am sure there are underground clubs like the Abbey in socal as well.

Yeah I've been living in Ukraine since last May. I am actually Ukrainian, I just went to college in the US. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

Any suggestions on where to hang out before the show?

I know the venue is non-smoking but is it strictly enforced?

I'd like to be able to smoke a bit during, but if the no smoking is strictly enforced I will probably opt not to.

Smoking is definitely not allowed at the HOB. There are plenty of good bars around the area as its located in the gold coast (one of the nicest, if not nicest, areas of the city). Just roam around and look for some place that looks like you'd have fun at. Have a great time.

Hey man...no event threads allowed in EMD so I'm gonna move this over to the appropriate events forum

Have a good time!

:D
