So! I thought this was quite interesting so I thought I'd share it to see what others think about it and their belelifs.

I was talking to my mother and we was conversing about her old friends and if she'd ever be interested in trying to find any of them. This lead to connecting my mother with a long lost friend (30 years-ish) through facebook, luckily she had the same surname! They were actually best friends when they were teenagers and travelled together but sadly lost touch. I convinced my mother to add her on facebook and she did, it turns out this woman is a reiki master and has devoted her life to healing with reiki energy which wasn't that suprising to my mother as she is also quite a spiritual person too, they travelled around Mexico when apparently it was a very spiritual place and alot of black magick went on which made them very opened minded to it all from the stories she's told me. (I'm not saying I believe in black magick though, although I am skeptical).

They re-connected and talked about old times, it was very heart warming to see my mother have a smile on her face as shes been through a rough time lately; sometimes I dispise the internet but it's definetely got it's benefits :)

This woman performed 5 distant reiki sessions on my mother (Germany to the UK), one of which the reiki woman said was extremely intense, something that rarely happens; she was holding my mother in her arms, while her face changed from different perspectives, from young to old all with joy and laughter and she described it as astonishing.

Shen then described the next phase as something come out of her as power, I won't go into details as these things are quite personal. She was convinced that she saw my mother in a scene of her past life and how she died. She described it as quite tragic and believed it was a meaningful scenario and saw hundreds of shadows leaving her.

After these intense scenes she then returned to providing reiki using colours and harmonized her aura.

That's just a short description of what happened in her reiki session, which apparently isn't quite the "norm" for reiki, so I was very intrigued by it all. I'd love to hear any of your experiences if you've had any reiki treatment and your thoughts on it!

Her theory for reincarnation, which I found interesting was that we specifically choose to be born, we also choose who our parents are and then accept what life throws at us to experience and learn, kinda hard to believe I know seeing as their is starving kids in Africa. She is coming to the UK to visit us this summer so I will definetely be bombarding her with questions lol - I believe what happened in the Reiki sesssion is true (or I want to belieive it as I find it fascinating), but I can't say I'm totally convinced by the reincarnation idea, I think I'd have to meet the maker before I could commit to fully believing in something so far fetched. I'm an open minded person and love to hear peoples thoughts and theories on all things spiritual.

I'm also thinking of having reiki with her now too, to try get some sort of relief of my anxiety issues. I've been prescribed sertraline but only took it for a week and discontinued it. I'm just personally a bit against taking SSRI's, not because I don't think they're helpful, I just don't like the thought/potential dangers of having to rely on man made tablets over a very long period to take over my brains natural seratonin production.. doesn't anyone else see this as quite scary?!
