My project is entitled: "Drug Attitudes Among High School Seniors." One of the questions I included is: "Which of the following, if any do you consider acceptable for recreational use?" I'm not going to list all of the drugs i listed(pretty basic ones, none of the research chems) but now that I have results I'm trying to categorize the "acceptable drugs" by Hallucinogens, Stimulants, Depressants......and this is where I'm stuck.
First off, Would Ketamine fall under any of the above three? or would it be it's own category (dissociative?)?
ALso, what would Inhalants and Nitrous Oxide be considered? would they fall under their own categories?
One last question....the 'A' in MDMA stands for amphetamine, but I have read that it is considered a hallucinogen? anyone know what ecstasy really is (hallucinogen or a stimulant)?
I was not sure where I could find out this information so I figured that some of you, or some of the moderators could help me out. I considered calling the local P.D., but they are still under investigation for corruption, etc.(what police dept. doesnt have that?) amd i'm sure if they could use that reason to come into my house they would....
thanks for your time...

Ok here's how i think it is....

Yes it would fall under dissociative, or "dissociative anesthetic".

Nitrous oxide is also a dissocociative anesthetic. (just a more mild one.) Others could be anything.

AFAIK, its a stimulant that some people refer to as having "hallucinogenic effects", though i don't think its strictly class as a hallucinagenic, especially in its chemical makeup.
hope this helps, others, you are welcome to correct me if i am mistaken.

MDMA is one of many psychedelic amphetamines. It's confusing because the word "amphetamine" has different connotations chemically and pharmacologically. For your purposes, MDMA definitely belongs in the psychedelic category.
