A benzo recommendation

I am back to klonapin 1 mg a day along with some other prescriptions for anxiety and depression. The thing is klonapin relaxes me but I still can definitely can get very anxious on it and yell on top off my lungs. Is there anything else I can take that does not make you gain weight? I am not into volumes though. Lexapro did not work for me. and forget Paxil zoft Prozac etc. those Are huge weight gainers. I just need a benzo with a good half life a little stronger than klonapin. If there are reAlly not any I will stay on the klonapin. I do not wAnt anyhing as strong as lithium and my phych would not give me that anyway. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
 
you could try ativan but it might feel weaker to you but it might be worth a shot.
 
Alot of those drugs you mentioned arent benzos but i would say valium 10 mg 2 or 3 times a day it has a long half life and if you take it regularly like you're supposed to there should be a constant supply of anxiety freeness running threw your veins don't get me wrong valium and all benzos build tolerance rather quickly though and benzos are a bitch to get off worst withdrawl from any drug
 
You need to excerise regularly, and eat healthier if you don't want to gain weight on meds. I gained lots of weight on seroquel, and I have to work extra hard not to put weight on with zoloft. I go for a long walk everyday, and I have broken my meals down into smaller meals more often during the day. Changing drugs won't stop you from gaining weight if you are prone to it. Changing lifestyle will though.
 
Defanately but klonapin is known to make you loose your appetite. The Wellbutrin I take is also. Not sure about the topermax.

valium has a high half life. but a side note; nothing is going to totally cure your anxiety but YOU. you can't expect your medication to do all the work. you gotta deal with stress whether or not you're on benzos. take it from someone who uses benzos prn regularly and has many anxiety disorders.
 
1mg Dosent seem like it would do that much, maybe 2mg a day one in the morning and one at night. How long have u been on the K-pins. I have been on Klonopin for years and it hasn't messed with my appetite, but everybody is different.
 
Valium, I think is your best bet. Long T1/2, a good combination of anxiolytic, sedative and muscle relaxant (even if that's not your issue) qualities. Don't overdo it. 10mg daily is a good place to start, perhaps nightly, perhaps split. Maybe 5 in the morning 10 at night, max, to start. Be careful going up from there as you can quite easily get a heavy tolerance, although, OTOH, valium is also the easiest benzo to taper off.
 
I know you are right. One and a half klonapin feels perfect for me but she will not up the klonapin and she just keeps increasing the topermax and Wellbutrin. I think topermax has a sedative affect also? Thanks.

I only have been on it since this past June. I tried Xanax also but that didn't work good for me at all.

I would picture of volume knocking me out because Itried it when I was young to get high so I cannot picture taken it like an every day drug just to relax me I can just picture taken it before a surgery for getting something done that's painful because when I took a volume before my chemical peel I was like totally out of it like I couldn't function normally on a volume in less prescription volumes are much lower dose I just cannot picture her being on a volume I'm just thinking Wayback win like 20 years ago when I tried volumes as a kid as an experiment something when you know you just took it to get high. cannot picture being on a volume I'm just thinking Wayback when like 20 years ago when I tried it. Exercise does help, but there were times when I would exercise and an hour later my anxiety would hit twice as hard. Since you only been on the Klonopim since June it's probably going to take some time for your doctor to increase your dosage, unless you have a good doctor and you can explain to him or her that you are still having some anxiety and panic attacks. In my opinion Klonopin is the best for anxiety Xanax works great for panic attacks but the right dosage of klonopin will definitely curb any constant anxiety or panic attack at the right dose. Klonopin has been a miracle and a nightmare all at the same time. If it wasn't for Klonopin I would be either in jail or in a institution as I Have PTSD.
 
She just in increased me to 1 mg 4x a day. For now I am taking the bottle I have and I can fill it in 6 days. I just hope I will be covered for the 4th pill. I called my insurance and they said that I should be. I have united community plan.

Xanax for me worked 2 hours then I came on a real down and had to wait hours to take another one. I cried more on it and was A lot worse. I think the 4 klonapins will help at first then I will get immuned to thAt also. I hope it keeps working for my crisis.

I wish u the best of luck 1mg was definitely a little low given your described situation. You would probably be fine with 3mg but you will get a good feel for the dosage as time goes by. Good luck
 
I was taking 1 mg three times a day of Clonopin. Now I am actually taking 1 mg four times a day of Clonopin she just gave me 1 mg two days ago and I just started today taken 1 mg four times a day. I have to remember on the weekend to take them up with me and set an alarm to take them early because on the weekend if I get up early then it throws off the whole schedule because then I am taking the last one at like 12 o'clock at night and then that throws off my whole schedule. I definitely felt diazepam (valium) more anxiolytic than clonazepam (Clonopin). It's different for everyone of course, but I don't recommend increasing the dosage because the med isn't doing what it's supposed to do for you, you'll just end up with a horrible physical dependency. If I read right, you have progressed from 1mg a day to 4mg a day in one week, with no proper relief. I recommend you ask your doctor for her opinion about Valium.
 
All benzos gave me the munchies, I put on 2 stone with lithium, lyrica and seroquel. It really is a matter of life changes, diet, exercise etc... go join a gym,m it gives me a reason to get up in the morning and I swear I feel thinner after one session ???
