Hello all,
I am new to this forum, so if this is the wrong area, I apologize, but I looked over all the forums and this seemed the best spot.
I called my GP today to find out that he does not accept any insurance for suboxone treatment and it is an initial $400 fee. I called over 10 other offices, with varying from $300 - $400, all of which wanted cash. Does this seem a little crazy to anyone else? To me, it seems, when someone is seeking suboxone treatment, they are probably at the end of their rope, money spent, assets sold, credit maxed ... how can they charge so much ... what are the alternatives?
For the $500 its going to cost me just to get a script, I can get 500mg of suboxone off the street; but I'm out on bail and don't want to run any risks trying to find more suboxone this way. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place, I'm doing odd jobs to make $20, 30, 40 a day ... there's no way I can shell out $500 for this. Is it like this everywhere? I'm really in shock. Would methadone be a better alternative, financially? Are there any government-subsidized suboxone treatment centers? Please advise.
Thank You.
