Ok, so I was searching the site of a Chinese chemical supply house, and they offer both these chemicals. 5-bromo-DMT, if I'm not mistaken, is found in certain species of sponge, and is the kind of thing Leonard Pickard was working on, but is rare to say the least, 5-isopropyl-DMT I've never heard of, though I know 5-Me-DMT has been tasted. These are rare things, can this be for real? They don't excite me hugely, but I'm sure they are to someone. Weird, no? Anyway, anyone care to stab in the dark at what these things'll be like? Obviously 5-subbed-DMT-ish, but past that?

They're rare because very few have bothered to synthesize them and sell them. They aren't rare because of hugely complex chemistry or unavailable precursors.

I think they're unlikely to be anywhere near as potent or interesting as say 5-MeO-DMT. Methinks a methyl group on the 5 position isn't enough to give it superior blood brain barrier penetrability, although the isopropyl or the bromine may be. I just wonder if they will bind strongly enough to 5HT2A.

I'm pretty interested in 5-br dmt and 4 br- dmt. (IIRC) A bromine atom is more lipophilic than a 5-meo moiety. I believe hamilton morris wrote an article that included a 5-br dmt trip report. If it is indeed psychoactive, we could have an entirely new class of 5-halgenated tryptamines.

Hammilton, it's not the chemistry but the economics that astounds me. Why? For who? I just don't understand our enterprising Chinese chemist thinking, I know, 5-isopropyl-DMT, that's my shortcut to easy street.
