Hello Bluelittors!

Benny from good ole corn and Crystal sky country!
Recovered drunk of 4 yrs. Taken oxy after each of 2 back surgeries when OxyContin was the craze. Stayed on it for 6 months to and bupe for 6 months. Literally at work, dissolving a little chip in my tongue as I was speaking in my boss. I’m not complaining mind you, I was a rock star for a while! The ER anything scares me. Currently I’m on 30 of Valium, 30 Addies, 90/day oxy, cymbalta, pantoprazole currently prescribed.

My sis just gave me a fancy edibles basket. (Infrequent—use not the basket.

What’s that you say? Why, Benny, what happened?? One day in 2023 I lost leg power, peed myself and had 9-10 pain (I save my 10 for stones), I knew exactly the condition I had. Fuck I worked ICU in a teaching hospital for 20. Gangsta. So I DROVE myself to our lady of the mercy for the third consecutive day. I said, “hey Dr doogie, want to wait another day until completely paralyzed?!”
Anywho, fast forward 60 minutes in surgery for emergent lumbar decompression to save my junk and legs. Cauda Equina Syndrome. Those very words could kill a 1st year. Most are paralyzed (60%), some with perm bowel/bladder issues 20%, full recovery 20%
Hospitalized for 9 days—get this—“we have no idea why your pain is so bad?!? It shouldn’t hurt so much”. My last day I was on a dilaudid drip/oxy/home oxy/ cheese pizza. Discharged with a rx of 5 Vic’s. I called the administrator and gave the sister my feelings. . She wasn’t very nice to me nor am I certain I’m allowed back at the sisterly love of hope anymore.

I can identify a high tolerance opioid dependency many a time. No one know why 27 yo Bobby’s heart rate won’t go below 120!?! I usually whispered to the boss—“give him 200-500 mg/fentanyl”. Eating again by lunch. Medicate, extubate, kick the bed down the hall.
-1.5 days later septic. Huge solid brown access from the whole surg site Dr said “it was gross”. Abscess shaming now?!?!? Actually we all RN folk are hard workers. But the black jaded humor—-well you’d know if in the medical field! That was our defense. Literally I’ve seen things—-that you don’t forget.
-90 RTC iv antibiotics drip in a sporty hipsak holding 500mL. Home PT/OT/RN for three months to walk with a cane.
-transferred to the university for sharply reduced mobility and sores. They basically punted. if I do 4 rounds of cpr most punt too. To got though. Hehe.
-On two separate occasions, the neurosurgeon for my neck and also for my back declined to do surgery or too high risk. (Nurse anesthesia folk hate me—-carpal tunnel “how much propofol did you bring, Doc/nurse?” Took 5-100mL bottles to knock me out.

“Warned you I was an alcoholic”

Sorry! Now I’m writing a novel!
Question if someone knows the answer:

I’m going from 90mg/d oxy it to Etampza ER po 27mg

I find nothing on here! I need to know if they’re equivalent to HD opiate users. Those charts are trash to. Every one is different. Same as oxy but more abuse proof. I could assume as I react to oxy well, I’ll react to the $1256.00 ExtampaER in a similar fashion?

-Vic sleepy time on 20
-perc Jazz hands
-hydro -pain DISSAPPEARS (2mg)
-Fent- no change/almost none.
Diazepam- shit, we did Valium?
Benzedrine-no way it’s five already
Amps-ramp up great for 2 days but after a week you’re feeling pissed. Happy time went away.

Hope to meet other nice drug dependents (all kinds being equal)

Example- my friend in my 3rd rehab had to explain a Regurg-a-Boof was. We are equals non the less.

Bye, Ya’all

Feel free to drop me a line

Welcome to Bl mate!
Shit, that equine disease thing that you said sounds terrible, never heard about it.
I don't know about oxy and Estampza (sp?), but sooner or later someone will chime in with accurate info for you.

Welcome to BL

I know exactly why you save the "10" pain rating for stones! It's hard to imagine anything more painful. I passed out at least 5 times with the pain from a kidney stone before I could even get to my phone to call an ambulance, fuucccckkkk.

I can't believe that pain can't kill. It must be the body's way of saying it needs to be fixed then ?

It is a strange phenomenon . . . at this point.

Hey Welcome here to BL forum !!
