Stimulants (4-methyl-aminorex) or (crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride)?

I apologize if the answers are out there, but I have searched and found no reliable or exact info on...

1 -How would you tell for sure if what you got is ice (4-methyl-aminorex) or crystal (crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride)?

2 -Is this still a member of the Amphetamine family?

3 -What are the major differences between the two if sniffed,smoked, or IV?

4 - Is it only a psychoactive chemical like meth or does it have any stronger physiological affects such as cocain ect.?

0 1/2 -Below is just a bunch of tweakaneese and not a necessary read for my questions above. Just saving time for those who don't care about the BS.

-I'm not in the slightest bit worried of an OD from Crystal Methamphetamine in fact I'm convinced unless I IV enough to produce a blood toxicity level all at once an OD is damn near impossible ( FOR ME NOT ANYONE. I AM TALKING ABOUT MY OWN TOLERANCE) seeing as its all in your head (I'v smoked a 1/4 oz in about 5 hours because I was stupid trying to commit suicide (Yes I know stupid...) What happened is I just hit a level of calmness I went bought some pizza ate half and gave the rest away on skid row...I think that is what really fried my dopamine receptors and I haven't been able to get the high I want anymore ever....)

It produces long-lasting effects, generally up to 16 hours in duration if taken orally and up to 12 hours if smoked or insufflated. Large doses have been reported anecdotally to last up to 36 hours.

Do you have a melting point that I could use? Methamphetamine HCl heated on a piece of foil over a flame. It should first melt (at over 170c) then begin to fume. Often the fumes will ignite. All amphetamines will pass this test that I am aware off, including the over-the-counter l-isomer present in vicks inhalers (the *only* way to check this is to check optical activity , either by resolution or by actually measuring it with optical filters). Methcathinone HCl has a higher melting point than methamphetamine HCl (like over 190c at least) and a characteristic smell, giving it away in an instant. Residue left behind may be by-product or "cut", there's no good way to tell which... Suffice to say that if there is more than a very small amount left afterwards, there is either cut or by-products present.

Another handy peace of info is this about optical activity...

d-methamphetamine is, by nature, optically active. l-methamphetamine is also optically active, but in the "opposite" direction. You can test methamphetamine HCl for optical activity with the greyish-clear plastic pieces from a pocket video game. Dissolve the methamphetamine in distilled water, then place one of the optical filters (the grayish clear things from the games LCD display) in front, and one in behind of the solution. Rotate one filter, and note the angle that is brightest and the angle that is darkest. If many "swirlies" appear, either use a different vessel to hold the solution in, or make sure the solution is well stirred. After you have done this, repeat the procedure with distilled water. A handy thing to use as a "calibration" of sorts is to extract the l-desoxyephedrine from a Vicks Inhaler (which is l-methamphetamine), and run this test on it as well.

Almost everything sold as "ice" is going to be methamphetamine, 4-methylaminorex is much more difficult to manufacture.

The only reliable way to tell for sure is GC/MS, as optical acitivity can be fudged by adding e.g. glucose.

I imagine most of the "ice" or "crystal" sold in the U.S. is meth. I'd be more worried about it containing other impurities besides 4-MAR.

We can't really help you with substance ID, but IMO if you have a liking for methamphetamine, you should avoid 4-MAR at all costs, that shit is fucking crazyyyy. Talk about a fiendish drug. My limited experiences with it consisted of practically being glued to the pipe and running that butane torch all night.
