I was wondering what steps were required in converting 1.4 grams of 4-aco-dmtf
into 4-aco-dmt HCL?

I understand if this post gets closed. I am just interested in seeing if
i can actually convert it.

Freebase it, the convert it back to the HCl salt. If you search around the site, you'll find out the principles of how to do this.

Why would you want to convert it to HCl?

the furmate salt is good and stable... why risk losing some in the process?

when you try to freebase it, it will begin to break the 4-aco ester bond, leaving you with 4-ho-dmt 'freebase' or hcl. it's not a true freebase because the 4-ho will donate a proton to the nitrogen, forming the zwitterion (neutral overall species, with separated charged areas)

The take-away from this is "leave it as the fumarate"
It's more stable, and unless there's a pressing reason that it's not acceptable, it should be left in that form.

It would be easy enough to do.

Basify in water, extract with non-polar solvent, add HCl, remove the np solvent, let the remainder dry.

I can't see a reason why you'd want to though.

Can't see a reason either, care to explain?

Also, there should be directions for this on the site but I couldn't find them yesterday in a hurry?
There should definitely be a good quick tek somewhere that is centralized for PD.
