300mg/ day Oxy Habit - Day 1 of Withdrawals - Feel fairly ok? (Update: I failed)

I've been struggling with my addiction for a while, and just a few days ago went and saw a Psychiatrist for the first time. He prescribed my Suboxone and Clonidine, and I was all set to start my induction today. I took my last dose of oxycodone last night around 10:30 PM. Based on past history, usually after 6 hours I would be feeling pretty hard core withdrawals. This time I woke and immediately took half a Clonidine and half an Etizolam, and went back to bed. I've repeated that same combo 3 times now throughout the day, and have held off on starting the Subs because I really don't feel that bad.

My question is it possible for Clonidine and Etizolam to keep my w/d's at bay this much? All that i feel at this point are watery eyes and runny nose. I'd love to just say screw the suboxone and go cold turkey with this combo, but I'm scared that in a few more hours the jig is going to be up and I'm going to feel like hell. I've tried getting on subs a few times previously, and the first day is always absolute hell. Today however I don't feel all that bad. Anyone? Is it possible that I'm actually going to get through this with only Clonidine and Etizolam?

It's now been 17 hours since I've had any opioids, which is crazy for me. I usually dose every 4-5 hours.

There are detoxes that only.use clonodine and thats it
It forsure helps with some symtoms but not all
The benzos also help alot but tou gotta make sure not to switch one addiction for another
Id say hold off on sub as long as you can and if you do not feel like you need it dont take it.
Even if you do feel you need it you can always try a quick 3-5 day low dose detox with the sub by yourself
Wish you the best

Thanks totach. I did just take 150mg of codeine, as I had some Tylenol 3 lying around. I didn't expect it to help, but it actually did quite a bit. At this point I'm feeling pretty damn good. I'm out of the codeine now, so that was a one time thing to help me get through today. Hopefully things get easier as time goes on and the Clonidine and Etizolam continue to be all that I need. I do know that many people say opioid withdrawal doesn't peak until day 3, so that scares me. It's been a very long time since I've made it more than half a day without switching to suboxone or getting back on Oxy.

If you can do it w/o the suboxone that would be the best/shortest way. Don't take anymore opioids until you actually feel withdrawal full force. I wouldn't stay on the subs for more than a week because they have there own hellish withdrawal that last forever. Have you tried kratom? It can really help ease the withdrawal and act like a stair case to slowly get off harder opiods.

Yeah, I've tried Kratom more times than I can count. I have quite a bit of good quality bali here, but I just have so much trouble getting it down, and it has never helped me much. Maybe I'll give it a shot later though.

jeez with the money i'd spend buying 300mg/day oxy i could send myself to rehab... fuckin expensive...

Codeine is pretty weak i dont care how many mg it wouldnt cure someones wd who has a big habit
So you are pretty unique there buddy
But yea run with it man youre way ahead of alot of other opiate addicts
I only know codiene doesnt do much is cuz when i go home to israel its over the counter and i took handfulls and it didnt do shit
Keep us updated on how youre feeling

Man, tell me about it. I don't even want to admit how much money I've spent over the last year, but it's absolutely sickening. I could have bought a nice luxury vehicle with cash, paid sticker price, and still not spent as much as I have on pills (not exaggerating.)

Anyways, to update everyone, I caved. The help from the codeine quickly wore off, and I started to feel really bad. I also had to deal with a stresfful situation rather than getting to lay in bed like I had all day, so that just made things worse. I ended up caving and getting enough oxy to get me through tomorrow, and I will attempt the jump to subs at that time. And god damn did that oxy feel amazing after going all day without it. I really have to get off this train though, as I will end up dead broke and I have to do it for my family. You guys all know the struggle, so I'll just brush it off and try again tomorrow. At that point I'll have several days off of work to get adjusted to the subs. It sucks and I feel like a failure for being too ambitious to think I could just do this cold turkey today when I have to be at work tomorrow. Live and learn.

Thanks everyone for the info and support.

Its ok bro its part of the recovery to cave eventho it doesnt have to.be it usually is
As long as you want to stop that is the first step and you have taken it now its only a matter of time hopefully til you find out what will help you stay off the opiates once you get over the wd
If you manage to wait like 48 hours till you are really feeling like shit the sub gives so much relief you will probably feel like you did on the codiene.

Well for me usually it takes until 24 hours after my last dose that I start feeling real bad. 12+ I start feeling, what I like to call, squirrelly. Anxious and nervous and just uneasy. Subs seem to work best either for a short detox (3-5 days but you'll still feel uncomfortable a lot of the time) or you can get on Suboxone Maintenance which basically means you are going to get addicted to suboxone then ween off those...

I've never used clonodine outside of rehab/detox but I've heard it does wonders for the cold chills and what not but it can make you really tired and drained so be careful moving around. Any benzo or pseudo-benzo works WONDERS for withdrawal... hell with enough Benzos I could kick opiates with those alone!! Lol just knock yourself out or eliminate all the anxiety and get real messed up..

If you are having trouble kicking and don't have much access to money or comfort meds (benzos, somas, gabapentin, subs etc) there is always Loperamide (Imodium), it has been a life saver for me at time and it works, man! Sure it is an opioid so if you don't taper you are just prolonging your withdrawals but it is SUPER cheap (roughly 10$ for 200 pills) and if you get Cimetidine (less than 5$ for 60 pills) and you take the cimetidine to potentiate the loperamide (10-40mgs depending on your tolerance mind you) and you will feel about 90% better with just the lope... add a benzo and you are STRAIGHT!!!

Just if you go the road of loperamide the best way to use that to get off opiates is to taper slowly (dropping one or two pills a day... and as you get closer to the end maybe jumping 3) but the key is to slowly lower your dose til you get low enough to where when you "jump" off you have minimal amount of symptoms... (usually just yawns and teary eyes... slight insomnia?)
Good luck man, I am going to be start kicking tomorrow (with valium, gabapentin, xanax, cimetidine and loperamide) I should be golden...
