Opioids 3 weeks into methadone w/d would taking small amounts of methadone taper prolong wd?

I am still in WD off of 130mg of methadone. They put me on benzos but I dont want to keep taking them and have to kick that too.

I have used a little oxy (10mg) at night the past 3 days. I am sure that the short acting opiates wont prolong w/d and if kept to less than a week wont cause w/d from them..........I cannot find out if doing the same with very small methadone doses would re-start the w/d clock or if it would just help ease things for a few days without starting over.

I dont have control over the meds so there is no chance to re abuse or take more than minimal amounts of anything. So its really only about getting through the rest of w/d as painlessly as possible. I want to kind of switch things around week to week to avoid any new dependence.

I mean, taking any opiates during a detox, will prolong it to some extent. But, if you stick to low doses and only do it once or twice, it won't set you back much. Your tolerance is still dropping, and therefore your withdrawals will still be getting easier. You just have to be careful, because if you keep taking opiates, eventually it really will set you back to where you were and you'll have to start all over again.

Why did you just hop off the methadone at 130mg's? That's a super high dose to just stop at, man. You couldn't taper down?
 
Money brother, I have no income, live in the south US and a 2 yr old son, the only way to continue would be to hustle and rob. 5 years ago id have kept on, today I don't want to risk state or fed time. I realize how quickly you can become dependent again. I am mainly wondering how long I have left of the physical hell. The only other methadone kick was off less than 1/3 the dose and 4 years of methadone use ago. That one was 4-5 weeks......I am not optimistic that it will be that quick now.

I cannot notice any drop in WD symptom strength if it has started. I think my tolerance is dropping because I can get full relief from 10mg oxy for a couple hours. What I am doing now is tapering down the benzo and using the oxy once at night. This far in I have no idea how much methadone it would take to work........I wish I had a few subs to taper with for a week, but I have no source here for that, not really sold much. Id rather not take any methadone but if small doses once or twice wouldnt start me right over then that will help a lot.
