Hey guys, i love Xanax, i feel that it makes me a more mellow and calm person,
normally i am aggressive and hot headed but Xanax gives me some sort of inner peace...
Thing is im almost 17, in school, 2 jobs and i really cant afford to go through withdraws...
Will 2mg once a week lead to addiction? twice a week? 3 times 4,5?
As long as some days... I can just be relaxed at school.

fuck dependance

thanks

won't lead to physical addiction, no, although you can get some nasty rebound effects nonetheless. benzo addiction is a sneaky fucking thing, and more than once a week has definitely the potential to end badly. you'll eventually need to take higher and higher dosages to achieve the same effect and well... all downhill from there, believe me.

it doesn't have the tendency to be no. i got benzos first scripted when i was about your age, and had to learn a lot about them the hard way. generally speaking the best (and only) way to use them is to use as little as possible as seldom as possible. benzo addiction is a fucking nightmare, even if you don't have the physical dependence to deal with, the rebound symptoms from them have left me absolutely unable to function and close to suicide on occasions too often to count. approach these drugs the same way you would, for example, heroin.

I absolutely second this opinion and have been through the withdrawal. It sucks.

there is no 'safe' way to approach these drugs. to say that there is a surefire way to avoid 'addiction' is pure bullshit, as it's a colloquial term that applies differently to each individual. proceed with utmost caution, and be advised that benzos are every bit as dangerous as heroin or crack.

^ this so very much. cannabis is truly a very benign drug, especially compared to benzos. it takes quite a bit of experience to be able to handle them with the adequate amount of respect.

You will be fine even if you took it everyday for a week, but benzodiazepines are NOT PLAY TOYS. People forget this.

Why don't you see a psychiatrist and see if they can prescribe a mood stabilizer to help with your mood swings? Also a therapist can help you work through anger issues without risking addiction to a drug that can kill you from delerium tremens during withdrawals.

Self medicating for your temper problems is going to backfire.

I would quit taking that shit and find a better strain of cannabis.

Yep, this! Stop taking Xanax while you still can...

2mg once a week - yeah... it's not going to be once a week for much longer
2mg twice a week - starting to get used to taking it that often
2mg 3,4,5 times a week - get ready for a shitty ride :\

My first question would be why are you taking 2mg off the bat? Anxiety can REALLY be dulled at 0.5mg, let alone 4 times that much...
Next concern would be why you're jumping straight to Xanax to cure your issues...

Xanax is like temporarily putting out a fire (seems to work), then quickly setting 10 fires.
After getting addicted, you have to put out the other 9 fires, then ultimately deal with the original issue.

It's up to you, what are you going to do?

Around four years ago I took .5-1mg per day to self-medicate for increasing anxiety. When I noticed the effects becoming less, I didn't even up my dosage. I decided I would just stay at that amount until it ran out of it's usefulness and that would be that.

Lo and behold I tried to get off of it and ended up with severe withdrawals. Incredible anxiety, light sensitivity. I passed out three times (mini-seizures?) due to problems I had getting Xanax at the time. Once I passed out on my family room floor and woke up in my puke. Another time in my shower where I woke up next to my own blood and realized I hit the shower faucet. Another time I ran out of gas and my sister went to buy gas for me and bring it so I could fill up my car. She found me passed out against my steering wheel.

I never told my family anything. That was a dangerous choice, but I pulled it off. I tapered down with Klonopin since it was easier to break up, just incy tiny little pieces less each day until I finally was done. After-effects lasted well over a year, including memory loss. I feel fine now, and thankfully whatever caused me to pass out didn't stay with me for the long run. I can actually take .5mg now since I had already gotten past the mental addiction before I even started withdrawing, but it has to be once in a while, like once every two months or so. However if I even so much as break up that same .5 piece and extend it into around three days in the same week, the symptoms start coming back upon cessation of use.

Sorry for the rambling, but those times almost seem like a dream as far as memory goes. I don't want to forget how close I came to ruining or ending my life.

1, i dont have anxiety, depression is a daily struggle, but not the reasoning for xanax, (not to the point I FEEL NECESSARY, as have a strong mind due to martial arts)
2. i took xanax because i was told it would help my meth comedowns, which it does, (im not a junkie lol)

i dont take xanax at all unless ive had some shard, like maybe the next morning id pop a xanax before school

its more just for my personal satisfaction, i like my mellow self and i feel my aggressive personality effects my life too much
i also enjoy the, "not a care in the world" feeling you get...
looks like il be staying away from benzos

see the girl i fancy doesnt like me smoking weed, so i really dont know what to do... and i told her id tell her if i did again... ( i havent since)
+ i got caught fried as FUCK in my room one night by my parents lmao

all your help is appreciated guys!!

Just had my first xanax-script (XR) a month ago. I have been using benzos prn (oxazepam) for years (not recreationally) without any probs. Usually 3-4 times a week. I wanted to switch because wanted a non-sedative benzo. Probably a mistake, and the doc hesitated quite a bit with the X, but I demanded a non-sedative benzo. I am actually quite pleased (after reading the horror stories of X) to find out that the xanax doesnt even do its job for me, in fact it makes anxiety like 2xworse for hours before the XR kicks in. Like a paradoxical reaction right from the beginning. I have been using 0.5-1.5 mgs of crushed XR. The IR script is propably out of my reach and not sure if I even wanted it, because of the ups and downs I hear that the IR-effect is like.
