I've had a rather hot and cold history with 2C-E. I used it every other weekend for about 4 months last spring/summer. I figured I was particularly sensitive to the substance, never going over 17mg until my batch was done. I found that the visual intensity seemed to "weigh down" on me during my peak and become almost oppressive feeling. Like the walls were just getting closer and closer. So I'd piss away the experience watching movies (great way to kill some time for your trip to end btw...it seems to be a fairly neutral experience) and waiting for it to be over. So I figured 14-16mg was my ideal dose.
I have a new batch now that I've barely touched but I keep hearing of all of these 20+mg experiences so I thought I'd finally bite the bullet and try out a 20mg trip with my buddy who was just drinking and another friend who took just a regular 15mg dose.
This experience completely re-opened my eyes on this substance. It was intense, sure, but what was missing in my 17mg trips was the actual psychedelia to make the intensity WORTH it. There was never any profound moments of truth or deep emotion. Just cold, almost sober-level cognitive abilities.
We dosed at 10pm sharp. 20mg in a 1mg:1ml solution, mixed with pop for me. I kept the solution in an old pickle jar (it was the only thing I had handy) and, although I felt I cleaned the bejesus out of it, my 2C-E batch smells like a lovely jar of rotten pickles. Rather, the rim around the jar does, the actually solution doesn't. So every time I dose I subconsciously taste nasty pickles which kinda makes me gag. My friends don't taste shit and laugh at me. The time frames are a close estimate as this trip was a week ago and I wasn't in the mindset of collecting data for a report. They should be close to bang-on though. The interesting stuff happened from around 2am on.
10pm-10:45pm - Same old come-up. Feels kind of uncomfortable, like your skin doesn't quite fit anymore. Meh. I'm watching my buddy play BF3. Easing into it. Kind of nervous, as the last truly high-dose psychedelic was a quarter of shrooms about 6 months prior. All other indulgences were modest dippings into my 2C-E stash sporadically between then and now.
11:00pm - Yeah I'm feeling the intensity already by this point. It's coming on much faster this time, but I'm cool with it. I remember how much I took and I expected as much. In my mind, I'd tell myself "it's only gonna get stronger in the next 30 minutes" which, oddly enough, calms me down. There's some slight nausea but nothing too bad. I'm a smoker and usually if nausea's gonna be a problem it'll be a cigarette that brings it on. No such misfortune
I'm happy where it's going.
11:30 - Peak's right on schedule. The visuals start to kick in. Vibrating, mostly. Like everything's enveloped in a green'ish energy and the world's just 'a' buzzin' with it. The patterns start shortly aftwerwards. One friend I've tripped with before called 2C-E "Kaleidoscope on Crack" because of the very predictable aztec-like patterns on everything.
12:00 - 2:00 - Not much to tell here that's worth mentioning. Watched Robocop 2 with my buddies, laughed my face off at my drunk-buddy's antics. My tripping buddy's playing with my LED Poi....Hmm, not a bad idea. I jack my poi back from him at around 2am and begin to flow a bit. Instantly I realize that this trip will be different. Not just stronger but fuller. The poi feel wonderful in my hands and everything flows so wonderfully.
2:00 - 3:00 - I take my tripping buddy outside and give him a lightshow. He enjoys it greatly but the cold gets to him so he goes inside. I stay outside. Smoking, spinning poi, and watching the moon. She catches my eye several times and every time I almost drop my poi at the beauty of it. The visuals at this point are extremely intense but not at all nauseating or intimidating, which I'm thankful for. Staring at the full moon causes my entire peripheral vision to move violently. Faster and faster, the longer I stare. Like the world was dancing to the tune of the moon's glow. Energy everywhere! Lovin' this!
3:00-3:30 - I go inside and grab my tripping buddy (the drinking friend has since passed out). He's got to come outside and check the sky out with me. We make our way to the front yard. The sky is clear aside from a couple of small wispy clouds here and there. They look like ghosts or spirits departing to the heavens. Eventually we get a gift from the Earth that I will not forget. One cloud formation was doing it's cloud business right in front of the moon, making it extra visible. It was just a thin sheet but it changed for us without drifting out of site. It changed quite a bit too! Every 15 seconds this small cloud formation was another intricate shape. At one point it was a very detailed dragon, another point it was a neat representation of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, cloaks and all. So we watched this until the small cloud ultimately dissipated. I have a lengthy discussion with him about how human's are a miracle but humankind is a blight upon this wonderful earth. It was a very in-depth conversation but I'm not gonna repeat it here. It had negative undertones but I assure you it did not impart a negative feeling to the trip. Just kind of a conversation that I was glad to have with someone finally.
3:30-6:30 - THE BEST PART!! My tripping buddy goes to bed, under my advisement. I really want to meditate. My visuals are still going strong and I also want to check out my CEV's. I turn out the lights, get comfortable, grab my ipod and turn on my FAVORITE tripping album, Shpongle's Ineffible Mysteries from Shpongleland. I easily slip into a trance. I'm at the point in my trip where I can't tell what I'm seeing with my eyes closed is my imagination or truly what I'm seeing at the back of my eyelids. I just chalk it up to a combination of both and stop divining too deeply on this question. I stayed with my eyes closed until about halfway through the album. Then I open my eyes and start to play with my OEV's. It was mostly dark in the room aside from a nightlight/air freshener he has that casts a blue light on the ceiling with a gridded shadow. I trance out on this to see what happens.
What happened next was so amazing I will never forget it. After staring at the blue/black lines on the ceiling I soon lost focus on the blue. The shadow lines became almost attached to my vision. Wherever I moved my eyes, the four shadowy bars would follow. I felt them on my face, across my eyes. This was neat but then I quickly caught a glimpse of something eerie. I could've sword I saw my left iris a few inches above my face. It disappeared but 2 minutes later it was back...unmistakable. I moved my eye, the iris would move in that precise, jerky fashion that eye movements perform. Following my sight perfectly. All the minor movements my eyeballs made, the silhouette of my iris matched. I was astounded. Then I saw the unmistakable outline of my eye socket around it. A few minutes later I saw the nose-bone in my skull in front of me. I was having so much fun I wondered how deep inside of my own body I could go.
Turns out that was about it but I'm so extremely happy with that result that I'm not complaining one bit. I feel like if I'd begun my meditation an hour earlier I might have achieved something truly amazing.
I fell asleep at around 6:30am. I had to text my friend at 5:00am to tell her about my night. She's anti-drug normally but lately she's been tossing around the idea of trying LSD (lol LSD in my city is impossible to find so she'll be waiting awhile) so I figured I could throw some psychedelia her way for posterity. Unfortunately my buddy got up at like 9am to do shit so I didn't get a full nights sleep. Kinda left me feeling mildly hungover. Mostly tired and mentally drained. Nothing worth writing home about.
So My love for this drug has been full rekindled. Very powerful stuff. Capable of deep, meaningful experiences, contrary to my prior beliefs of it being a cold, calculating, emotionally worthless drug.
1st TR, btw. Critism very welcome! Thanks for reading!
