10mg Valium, what to expect?

I've dabbled before in taking my share of xanax recreationally, and am having my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow first thing in the morning. My dentist gave me a script for 1 10mg diazepam (not really sure why) but I gladly accepted the prescription. Took the 10mg pill just now and was wondering what to expect from this dosage, and wondering why I was given a benzo to take the night before the appointment. Will I get any of the euphoric buzz that I normally get when taking a couple mg's of xannys? Should I take shot of some liquor to help the buzz? I'm not really worried about the procedure tomorrow, so wasn't sure why he gave my the valium, but what the hell, I'm not complaining. Anyway, how can I get the most recreational value out of this one pill?
 
Well, 10 mg Valium is about equal to 0.5 mg Xanax. He likely prescribed it for any apprehension or anxiety you might experience the night before. I don't know your benzo tolerance, but it seems like you have some. I don't know exactly how much tolerance you have, though, so I can't say whether it will do much or not.
 
With no benzo tolerance you'll probably sleep better and vallium has a very long half life so you may well be still quite subtlety relaxed tomorrow. ni=ut its not going to knock your on you backside or anything. I would advice drinking on it as I'm not sure what else your dentist may give you for the work he is going to do.

Let the pill dissolve under your tongue I always find that the best method
 
Damn 10mg Valium is equal to .5mg xanax? I've had nights before where I had 7mg xanax. Don't remember the night, but from what I hear, I had a good time. The dentist is giving me a pill in the morning that is a conscious sedation pill and then N20 after that pill kicks in. Maybe I'll drink a beer or two, but so far I feel relaxed and cozy, similar to how I felt on xanax.

Also, I don't know how long tolerance stays with you, but it's been a couple months since I've taken any benzos.
 
Iv been using Valium for a while, if you've never taken it before im sure you'll feel pretty relaxed. I always know im really feeling it when it feels like i could just collapse and relax all my muscles and feel great.

Edit: from my experience i would say a 10mg Valium is equal to about 1mg of Xanax, course i weigh 140 and have a really fast metabolism
 
Yeah, Xanax is far far overrated. I would easily say that 10mg of Valium = 0.5mg Xanax, but it feels more like 10mg Valium = 1mg Xanax.
 
Lol what does your dentist take you for a bitch, he scripts you a benzo haha what a nice guy : p My <snip> dentist wouldnt even give me a script for hydrocodone after having 4 wisdom teeth pulled out. My mom even asked him after for pain killers and they declined, i was like all this and i dont even get anything. grr

Literally, did he pull out a smarties tube and say just take one, (btw *giggles* the blue smarties are the best ones)

For me valium gives me this really gentle relaxed feeling, and a slight euphoria. If your anxiety ridden like myself, then you will get euphoria from it in a sense of 'everythings okay' rather than being a bit on edge.

But for the average person, it will make you feel relaxed and you will sleep well.
 
I have heard of this really low-count rx'ing type of thing esp. with benzos, a lot of the time because of fear of flying. I was having a conversation the other day with someone who is scripted 2 Valium for a two-way trip via plane. It is kind of ridiculous, though.
 
I have been prescribed 7 x 2mgs before. Frustrating when you have to pay a set prescription fee in the UK (and 14mg diaz wouldn't touch me anyway haha..)

Anyway - we're going a little off topic and I think this thread has run it's course (and the OP's tooth will be out by now, hope it went well) so I'm going to close it. If anyone has any queries feel free to shoot me a pm :)
