US Politics the 2025 trump presidency thread

Why does he lean forward at seemingly impossible angles? It seems to defy the laws of center of gravity.... it's creepy tbh

I can understand back problems and old man posture, but this seems to defy the laws of physics

Isn't there some stuff about him being the anti-Christ? This seems like something you would see in The Exorcist.

I doubt his poor foot digits can support his 300lb frame like a ballerina

Odd I wear high heels and semi heavy chested and I don't tilt forward

Well high-heels don't attempt to hide the fact that they are making the wearer taller. I'm no expert but isn't the idea that more of the wearers bodyweight is carried on the ball of the foot? Also that the design is optimized for whatever angle of the ankle is so that the person walks upright.

But lifts are nothing more than rubber wedges placed below the heel but since the shoes were designed to be flat, the weight on the ball is lower.

Try putting something like a rolled up sock in the heels of flat shoes and see how it feels.

It's silly because nobody is asserting that the orange gimp is a midget - but his vanity knows no bounds... sadly his self-awareness is zero. I mean, guessing what colour your leader will be each day must get a little wearing.

I see lots of pretty high heel Cowboy boots and no one is leaning unless its against a bar or corral

Well fine. It's a perfently reasonable design and most film actors who needed to be tall for a role would simply wear designs of shoe for which a heel is normal.

Look at Steve McQueen. In all of those 60s and 70s cop action films, he wears designs of footware that have heels. So it looks entirely natural.

BTW they even make 'platforms' in which boots with heels also have thick soles so it can seem a modest heel but significantly increase percieved height.

Kim Jong Un wears lifts or platforms BUT his shoes are specially made. I cannot believe someone who thinks their image is so viral that being 5 feet 11 isn't imposing enough would, at the same time, buy lifts. Again - like the way we get to see where the self-applied makeup doesn't cover up the orange gimps true skin tone. SURELY he could afford experts who would ensure it was done professionally.

I'm in the unusual position of repeatedly being told I was 5 foot 11 tall (my mothers estimate based on my dad being taller than me) and at the age of 45 learning that I am in fact 6 feet tall exactly.

But in 45 years not once did I bother to actually measure my height - it was just my doctor who checked my height and my response was 'oh'.

There are people taller than me, there are people shorter than me, but I don't base my respect for someone on their height.

OT in the early 80s there was a British sitcom called 'A Small Problem' which was set in a future where Apart-Height was enforced by an authoritarian government. The lead was 5 feet 2 inches but when decimal measurments came in, he was 1cm too short. How prescient is that?

As someone noted 'it's a hard time to write comedy. The best way is to think of the most INSANE ideas, write them down and simply wait for reality to align...'
