Feds move heaven and earth to get pot user out of russian jail and leave millions of american pot users caged in american jail.

Re: why shrooms and not meth/fent, methamphetamine and fentanyl have more of a societal stigma to overcome than mushrooms do. I'm not saying that's right or the way it should be or anything like that, but I think that's just a fact.
We should base policy on statistics and science not social stigmas.

We're in deep shit if emotion is how we decide policy.

But yea I'm sure that's the reason. It's what I alluded to in my first post. The public is too stupid to understand that destroying the life of a drug addict makes more drug addicts

Doctors are terrified of the DEA which continues persecuting them and they have not let up at all despite the CDC retracting their guidelines that catalyzed the fentanyl epidemic

I know, I can't tell you how angry that makes me. It pisses me off to high heaven. I like the doctors that are not scared and not chickenshits.

Just hoping better people make better decisions. I mean I am jaded. I still get paranoid dealing with weed. 45 years of persecution does not go away over night.
I totally get it. But we have to sooth ourselves somehow so I try and focus on the progress. (but then get angry again too!!)

I mean can you blame the doctors?

They study for 12 years after highschool to be a pain specialist. Sacrificing their whole youth....then the DEA puts them in prison for 20 years and their family goes homeless. I'd be terrified to prescribe too in this climate.

This movement needs some more traction though.

I really thing that drug reform institutions (drug policy alliance for example) should start teaming up with or addressing the medical crackdown. Because right now drug advocacy groups only focus on recreational addicts.

Again...it's absurd addicts get all the attention. They get their 300mg of methadone per day no questions asked that most cancer patients would kill for.

Addiction is a very well known thing. Most people don't even realize chronic pain exists.

I think you have a valid point though man. I get so angry and hateful and fantasize about doing some super evil shit over this injustice....but I think taking the "live one day at a time approach" is healthy to cope with this persecution. I have my dose this month...I'll be ok today.

But wanting to plan ahead in ways like uproot my entire life an move to a developing nation with more freedom is really nagging at me latley. I don't know whether to stay and weather the storm here or run.

I do somewhat as some will not even prescribe the minimum because of fear. I think the medical world should have pushed back on government intrusion of medicine. I mean how are they suppose to do their jobs? I get it though. But some movement should have happened when a person in the hospital is in pain and only gets a tylenol. (acetominophen does nothing for me. Ibuprofen is a decent pain killer)

My wife's doctor (granted my wife has a lot of issues with hip, pelvis after a bad car accident at 18) has no problem giving her 150 percocets with a refill after a procedure or surgery. He also knows my wife hides her pain and does not abuse so he almost says take it if you are in pain. So all along he was not afraid. But some others just don't give anything out of that fear of law. I do not think I could do my job if I acted like this.

We could go on Lucid. Would love to sit in a room and chat because I agree with a lot. Maybe in 100 years when we click on a thread we will be transported to a coffee table for discussion. Time for solutions to this issue.

There's something ironic about people being upset we traded an arms dealer.

We ARE the arms dealers.
For me it's not about the arms dealer, it's about us trading him for a basketball player that hates the US and kneels for the national anthem, instead of trading him for a veteran who served our country in the military

Really says a lot about what our current government sees as an ideal/favorable/valuable citizen

not only that but the usual herd of mock outrage republicans like trump, gaetz and mtg are losing their shit about the fact that paul whelan is still in prison even though, for 2 of those 4 years, trump was president and didn’t lift a finger…

also, the clear double standard at play here.

she hates america because she kneels and questions why the anthem is played at sporting events.

meanwhile the events of january 6th are downplayed as patriots peacefully protesting.

so those who describe her as a u.s.-hater would be absolutely fine if she went to the capitol, smashed windows and beat up capitol police officers? i mean for the sake of consistency, right?

right.

So if you criticize the government which is protected under the 1st amendment you are supposed to have less rights than someone that worships the corrupt government?

That's not at all how the first amendment works.

You'd really think a drug user would have something negative to say about our unjust government violating ppl....do you?

Have you ever had your rights violated and caged over your own bodily autonomy or mental illness (addiction) or whatever you want to call it?

Are you mad at the government about it? Well if so i guess you hate america IN ITS ENTIRETY and the troops. -this is the logic you're using here.

Do.you think people that call every US election they lose a rigged sham and that attack the government to murder politicians after losing elections hate america?....or just ppl that kneel for the stupid fucking anthem?

My view is play stupid games win stupid prizes…I don’t think anyone should be stuck in a Russian prison over personal amounts of weed, but she knew it was illegal and possibly could go to prison and still did it, she played a stupid game and won a stupid prize

Maybe trump wasn’t willing to trade for an arms dealer ? Now imagine the roles reversed trump traded the arms dealer and Biden’s didn’t do anything, I bet you’d be shouting from any soap box you could find

god damn I like to play that stupid game

^ criticizing me for something i haven't done is weaksauce, dude.

right, because trading for an arms dealer and doing nothing were the only two possible courses of action...

alasdair
No but those are the two we’re looking at, I’m just saying imagine the roles reversed, you don’t think you would criticize trump had he done that ?

Alright, forget I said anything about her hating her country

So we traded an international arms dealer for a basketball player instead of a Marine

Alright so yeah I still think it was a dumb trade

^ that's a false dilemma. it wasn't one or the other.

i lean towards this:

"I think that what President Biden did was to take care of an American who was in peril and bring home the American that he could bring home. So it's disappointing that a former president would have that sort of perspective,"
