Jan 6 Attack on the Capitol and the aftermath

Lmao, look at this horseshit. So the only guy (Ray Epps) filmed on camera Jan 5th and 6th rallying people to "storm the capitol building" (his words), is the guy the NYT writes an article to defend?

People are still in prison for non-violent trespass charges, and Ray Epps, who on video, rallied people to "storm the capitol building" gets removed from the FBI watchlist and then gets a NYT puff piece?

I think the J6 hearings are a scam so they can try to use the 14th amendment to disqualify Trump from running in 2024, because that amendment specifically mentions insurrection

Yep that’s likely their plan, if I had to guess. They have pulled out all stops on this one and have used all dirty tactics to stage this all. There is like a core 20% of the US population that are pure lemmings. For them, to not believe the establishment is sacrilege.
 
for what crime?

as far as i can tell, video evidence places him outside the capitol. did he even enter the building? i can find anything suggesting he did.

the whole epps theory seems to hang on: footage of him whispering to another man outside the capitol: his not having been arrested.

seems flimsy at very best.

i'm not that familiar with the story and that was recalled from some stuff i read previously.

he's talking a lot about entering the capitol the next day. did he?

I guess people who incite "insurrection" should be held to a lower standard of accountability than trespassers

That's what the Jan 6 hearings are about. Holding the people who incited the insurrection accountable. You know? Folks like Trump, Giuliani, John Eastman, etc.

The actual trespassers are meeting justice completely separate and independent of the Jan 6 commission.

enough to miss the part where trump had them take the metal detectors down because so many people had guns

also managed to miss all the coverage both online and on tv showing all the people strapped

must have a hotspot on top of his rock but no that doesn’t make sense because then he would have seen at least one picture of all the oath keeps and proud boys with guns

trumps exact words regarding taking the mags down
take the fucking mags down they are here for me not to hurt me
yeah he had nothing to do with the capital getting stormed and there were no guns

no wonder the whole world thinks America’s favorite pastime is eating lead paint chips

Even if it is some sort of grift, anyone and everyone should rejoice at the end of Trumpism in the GOP. Republicans will win in 2024 if they run a not-Trump candidate. If they fail to see that then they're doomed to fail.

I watched the video but don't know who Ray Epps is. Looks like a convenient scapegoat to me. Or at least smoke and mirrors with a little deflection and misdirection.

If you were watching the Jan 6 hearings or even the second impeachment trial, you would have seen video of Trump's Stop the Steal rally speech where he essentially did the exact same thing Epps was doing except from his pulpit where thousands of his cult members were following his direct orders to march to the capitol.

Anyone who believes Epps incited the entire insurrection just because he said that in front of a couple dozen people are delusional. He had not the fraction of influence that Trump and Giuliani had at the rally. Besides the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers didn't even attend the rally. They were marching to the capitol way before the rally. Do you actually think those extremist militias were following orders from Ray Epps? Like I said, delusional.
 
So people just want to see their political enemies suffer is what I'm gathering, the rule of law doesn't matter to them. People who say the punishments are unfair and not proportionate/consistent are written off as dumb paint chip eaters I guess

It doesn't make sense that unarmed non-violent trespassers have been in jail for over a year but Ray Epps isn't in jail and wasn't even charged with anything, then got a NYT puff piece article, unless it isn't about the rule of law, and is simply about punishing political enemies, which apparently isn't Ray Epps who was clearly inciting insurrection for two days on video, wonder why Ray Epps is different?

Ray Epps should be charged with a crime, why isn't he being charged with anything?
