Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

Having once been obese myself, it takes a lot of effort and is Hella difficult to lose weight...it can be done, but it's hard as heck, had co-occurring issues as well, PCOS, Insulin resistance, and a slow metabolism...just saying

4 times?! i don't know a soul who's even had it twice -- see that tells me something's wrong....you do know there's a ton a positives that were false positives because a lot of tests can't tell the difference between other colds and flu right? that's most likely what's happening there....i don't believe that for a minute that somebody had covid-19 4 times already - no offense....im just not buying it

Yeah well I don't see any reason why she would lie about it...

You should maintain T and B memory cells for a long time after natural infection, so even if your antibodies deplete to undetectable, your immune system should still be able to use its memory to create new antibodies upon reinfection.
Nice!! Plus if I get my booster and exposure to Omicron I've heard I could end up with super immunity 🤞
The other reason I'm getting my booster is cause it decreases transmission to a decent degree so that can only help.

So I had a wee read since I haven't been... what I've gathered is with Omicron looking like it's gonna take over other variants things are looking up for us all since it's less severe!? And Delta etc should disappear?! Plus speculation that this variant is a signal to the end of the pandemic 🤞🤞

The way I see it is:
There may be people in hospital who have had their vaccines but if you put it in perspective of numbers the majority of the population have been vaccinated compared to those who haven't. Therefore it could be argued that in terms of odds the larger the group i.e. vaccinated people the more chance of "hospitalisation" as there is simply more people that could become ill. Plus what I hear from my friend who works in ICU is the majority of people in hospital who are severely ill and dying are majority unvaccinated, whereas the people who have been vaccinated that are in hospital (i.e. hospitalisations) aren't as serious in general e.g. not dying, are recieving things like oxygen and other treatments.
So basically there is a larger percentage of people seriously ill or dying who are unvaccinated when compared - in relative terms! - to those who have been. I'm not the best at articulating stuff so hope that made some sense lol.

Do you happen to know if their symptoms were milder after the first infection? I'm extremely curious about immune systems, biotech and Covid, so that's why I'm asking. Also, did they test positive every time, or they just recognized the symptoms?
All I know is they've had worse colds and flu's ...
But they did lose their sense of smell for ages with Delta

They were also probably walking around spreading it more than they might have since they don't like wearing masks. But that's up to them I guess...

You don't have to be symptomatic to infect someone.
This is pure bullshit that has more in common with a religious cult belief than it does with logic and science. It's a politically motivated idea that can't be validated by the ordinary person but sure can inspire a high degree of neurotic hysteria in them.

Shouting 'fire' in a movie theater, when the theater is the entire globe..

Who ever conjured up asymptomatic transmission should be fired out of cannon into the fucking Sun.

... just a year and a half of research
This paper (which doesn't look at lymphocyte based immunity), does indicate a drop off in protection over time with both vaccines and natural immunity.

So far my 4 of my parents friends have been diagnosed with lung cancer and 2 of them have died, all of them were vaccinated…just wondering if this is a coincidence or if any of you guys know anyone who have gotten lung cancer after being vaccinated/boosted…happy New Years , be safe

There is always a drop off over time but exposure to the actual virus vs a simulated threat always produces a more acurate response and a longer lasting immunity on average in healthy humans. Vaccines are a less harmful, less accurate immune response trigger.

After having the real virus I was re-exposed and did not test positive after 6 months. I was exposed and did test positive a second time at 14 months but tested negative again in 48 hours as my immune system ramped up very quickly to stop the virus before any symptoms appeared.

Each exposure is resetting my immunity to a high level as my body keeps ramping up to fight it off. I can't image any positive reason to suddenly give my immune system a simulated threat that isn't exactly what has been attacking me and cause it to go off creating immunity to something that only exists in a shot.

Once we actually get a working vaccine that doesn't kinda provide some immunity to a few variants but actually works at tricking my immune system into producing the correct anti-bodies to fight off this virus in all its variants and we set up a systematic world delivery plan after proper trials then we can consider vaccinations again. We, as in humanity, have simply jumped at some very poor ideas right out of the gate.

Some were smokers, but still 4 people within a couple months, all vaccinated …you don’t see that as odd at all ?

not really, nothing more than coincidence

people die every day, and, I assume you are talking about older people

people just go... "wow, they were all vaccinated, that must be the cause!" - because these are the people who are actively looking for a conspiracy or reasons to distrust the vaccine, they will find reasons everywhere, their brain will create reasons and connections everywhere.... pattern recognition
