most ppl you still see at the grocery store and whatnot, wearing masks even tho the mandate ended in that state, probably got a shot or 2 and they're just super paranoid still

I see people walking around parks by themselves wearing masks. I see people driving, alone, wearing masks. My neighbour was doing his gardening wearing a mask. There isn't even any virus here.

lol i see dumb asses wearing masks and we dont even have covid in the country.

I asked them, and they said it was a fashion choice, as they were following the latest Insta trends.

So there.

I'd also be willing to bet, that most ppl you still see at the grocery store and whatnot, wearing masks even tho the mandate ended in that state, probably got a shot or 2 and they're just super paranoid still, and they're still laying low for the most part

It's not hurting anyone but I had to have a laugh at a guy I saw while I was driving to my gig last night... he was in the car next to me, with 2 masks, and a face shield, and rubber gloves, with his windows rolled up, driving alone. Like, dude... you're good man.

Maybe sometimes but it's more about fear I think, really. Some people are scared absolutely shitless by the whole thing. Also some people choose not to get the vaccine because they don't trust the lack of long term studies, but they still take the virus seriously.

People are scared shitless of the delta variant currently. Even in a place with no covid, as they see it, it could be spreading right now and people haven't started getting sick yet. Some people are really scared, and especially germaphobes.

@TripSitterNZ

i havent even seen the realities of covid for myself since i live in NZ. We are very lucky to avoid it. but covid is still evolving fast and will be whole different challenge going foward.

Relative to other viruses, I don't think COVID is evolving quickly. From what I've read, it actually mutates slower than other viruses. It wasn't just luck that resulted in Aus/NZ avoiding this virus. We made a lot of sacrifices. But, more importantly, our politicians did the right thing early on by restricting freedoms... the only question is when are we going to be free again, if ever?

It's really not that scary unless you're like 70 years old.

oh yea - the germaphobes are losing their minds right now....i crack up at the people wiping down the grocery carts like mad too - i don't even waste my time with that...wash your hands when you get home and you're plenty fine....

i don't think it's a good idea to go overboard with all of that because, imo, you're better off with some exposure to germs rather than none at all....idk maybe it's because i worked in hospitals and i also used to go to retirement homes doing mobile xrays and i was pretty much almost never sick - i was as healthy as can be even tho i was exposed to it all - i never called in sick and was commended on that - im not one to call-in and in fact, i try to never call-in and employers have always noticed that about me and it would come up in my reviews....plus id bring it up when it came to raises

anyway - the one year i caught the flu, i got the flu shot, and it was the second time that happened - so that ended the flu shot experiments for me

i did catch the flu in March of 2019 and it laid my ass out for a couple days - my kid brought it home from school....would i have caught it even with with shot? i think probably....a friend of mine gets the flu shot every year and still ends up with the flu probably 50% of the time anyway
