My current thoughts on spirituality and god, have any input?

Metaphysics is bound by something very earthly called language. God is a word and nothing more at the end of the day but the meaning of it is essential. I have met God, as the single and infinitesimal point wherefrom all of existence and the appearance of every day reality comes forth, and I can state with more than a bit of confidence that this God is a largely inert one. It looks back at you as you look into it. By this point it can be nothing more than like a mirror which can only reflect something back. What you show to it, it will show back to you. It has got to do nothing at all with karma.

The only way to prove god is to prove it to yourself. You cannot convince a person who doesn’t want to believe in god that there is one. That’s one of the biggest lessons of life I feel and why I feel that proof in a scientific sense is useless and contradicts what I believe God really is which is something that cannot be bound by physical means and experimentation that have only been around for relatively 200 years or so.

Our whole structure is built upon giving advice and respecting our elders and their wisdom. Which are good and useful and considerate but at the same time can cause disempowerment within your own being and make you feel like you have to use something external from you to find truth or to learn about life or to even define who you are which is why religion has been so powerfully influential throughout the centuries up until this day because people don’t feel empowered. This ongoing paradigm destroys confidence within our society and later generations.

If you are at harmony with your own truth then it will just naturally pour out of you into other peoples lives and make our society better by default and people will see god working through you and just automatically start to believe. You don’t even have to start a debate or ask a question or nothing. The atheists and agnostics will always be unsure until they die but the people who truly believe in the power of the universe and understand the power of the mind and take the time out to cultivate and to nourish and to practice these skills are the people that will have the highest chance to become truly and genuinely comfortable and secure with themselves and their ideals and their place in life and the nature of reality. it’s gonna shine through those people the most because they learned to exercise their faith and their mind and their individuality and they did not just attach themselves to someone else’s ideas as much. (Not talking about religious faith).

By being skeptical you tune out a lot of valuable information and sensations that can help you in your path of life and cause you to have less uncertainty.

^^ I'm pretty much on board w/ what ovenbakedskittles said. I think various faiths and spirituality in general have a lot to offer us in terms of finding individual contentment and peace. I've only recently become more spiritual after overcoming a suicide attempt. Through prayer, meditation, and reading, I've managed to calm some of the raging ocean that is my inner self. And though I identify as a Christian, the wisdom found in other faiths is important to me.

Whether these holy books are simply metaphors or what have you, they were written for a reason and many millions of people genuinely saw them to be true, and passed these spiritual traditions down through generations. So to discount thousands of years worth of tradition as mere fiction through the use of modern science seems to be a blind leap, imo.

Believing in a higher power is merely relinquishing the idea that you are omnipotent and fully in control. If you're anything like me, you'll know that to be the way to go.

If you ask me..

I subscribe to the belief that consciousness is a fundamental property of energy and that every discreet body has a consciousness of its own that bundles the consciousness of what it is comprised of.

A rock has consciousness.
Your heart has consciousness
You have consciousness.
Your family has consciousness
Your ethnic group has consciousness
Your species has coinsciousness
All Life of Earth has consciousness
The earth, the sun, the solar system.
The galaxy, the local group, he supercluster
The Universe and the Multiverse.

And now comes the kicker: ITS ALL YOU.

You ARE Energy.
You ARE Consciousness.
You ARE the Multiverse.

TAT TVAM ASI - YOU ARE THAT.

We are the Ocean in a Drop but more so
we are the Ocean, eternally in motion.

As my Spirit Guide put it:

Animism I assume?

The ontological proof should suffice. He exists because one can conceive of God. A formless idea of God would be impossible to comprehend because life is on earth, not the Himmel, especially to the non-druggies and not-Buddhists.

Animism I assume?

Consciousness is an inherent property of energy.
Every discreet body of energy has its own consciousness comprised of that of its parts
Therefore Animism and God.
