I'm really curious about this. I was on ssris for many years mainly for my anxiety but went off them mainly due to loss of sexual interest.

Currently my anxiety and depression is a bit worse than it would be on my meds. I currently have 2.8 grams of shrooms in my freezer. Is there a way I can experiment with these to benefit myself? Is there a safe dose to avoid a bad trip? Can I take 1-1.5g if I'm not in a great mindstate and benefit from that?

Wondering if anyone here has actually benefit from any sort of dose of lsd or shrooms to treat anxiety and depression, but specifically anxiety. I realize the doses I mentioned are not microdoses but the fact that I can't try it if I go on an ssri or snri antidepressant is a bit depressing. Just curious if it really is possible to take a small dose or microdose of this stuff to actually help me. Curious on what experience people have with this. I also realize tripping is mindset based but the microdose thing does interest me. I am reading however that you can build up tolerance with might be negative.

tolerance only for everyday use, in microdose amounts, tolerance will not set in if you skip one day between doses.
for minidoses - skip 2 days,
your 2.8 grams could be 10 minidoses or 20 microdoses or 2 party doses or one extended personal journey.

bad trips are just how people feel they have reacted to self confrontation or body tension.

strong trips are quite challenging as we face our mental and physical composition.
you may or may not respect how you react to yourself and that is the essence of the badness in trips.

some people's reactions to strong trips are so stupid that they actually get into harm, so be informed and don't react stupidly.

I know right, I've got a trip I want to do, but I'm on an antidepressant so it won't work, I'm stuck as I want to try it but I'm not in the right frame of mind so I'm on antidepressants, mainly for sleep and it takes so long for them to get out of my system before I could trip that I give up and take my antidepressants as they help my sleep

I've only ever took acid twice, both was a bad trip as I got anxious and had thought loops, but was so long ago aged 17 and again aged 26 I think, I'm 40 now and willing to try again, but it's so shit that these sorts of drugs don't work on antidepressants

I don't think there's sufficient data to prove that microdosing can actually improve behavior in any measurable way, but there are enough anecdotes to suggest that it will probably make you feel like a god. It sure does the trick for me.

Only dose every second or third day. Never use psychs two days in a row even when microdosing. LSD is preferable for me personally, mushrooms are hit or miss and very chaotic in nature. If you are going to microdose with mushrooms TBH a few "threshold" dose mild trips will be more impactful. It just isn't stimulating enough at low doses to provide energy and clarity.

If you are depressed or anxious, do not trip on acid or mushrooms. The drugs will make things 1,000x worse. I have seen this happen to friends. Exercise, meditation, and eating correctly is more helpful.

Also, keep in mind, most people are depressed and anxious especially now with the Chinese virus pandemic.

I'd lean towards trying a micro/low does regime for at least two or three weeks. I like 150-250mg ground usually. I haven't had any acute depression since I started, excepting the day after using some gabapentin once, though it doesn't magically make me more motivated and I still have some of the more subtle depressive symptoms.

I have problems with rumination and it can be hard on anxiety for me, however. Doses above a true microdose can increase my anxiety until the peak passes. The net effect if taken regularly for long periods has been reduced anxiety and more adaptability overall, but I can still get some when it's most active in my system. Stuff like theanine and lemon balm can help.
150-250mg or even 150-250ug of LSD is not a low dose or micro dose. Or are you writing about another drug? Even with psychedelic mushrooms depending on the type 1.5-2.0 grams is not always low and it is not a micro dose of shrooms.

I wouldn't. These can both, Shrooms in particular, cause terrible anxiety.

This is why I've had 2 bad trips on acid, it doesn't even make you get visuals you get stuck on a thought loop, you have a feelings of dred and impending doom, you feel so depressed and anxious and all the bad things that's happened in your life come back to haunt you, you get flashback memories too

Yeah I think I'll give my acid tab a miss till I'm not anxious and worried about stuff, it could be a while lol

If I take .5 grams every 3 days 3 times is that going to be enough to first notice positive effects for shrooms?

I just know one person was swearing by it to help her and her daughter's depression but I realize different things work for different people. I have heard that mushrooms in general may be more unpredictable than lsd. I know I took a gram of this stuff and although I wasn't in the best mindset going in I tried to keep calm and meditate and I ended up being ok. wasn't the most mood enhancing but it definitely did something and didn't seem to make my anxiety any worse.
very very light visuals and maybe some giggles.

I also suffer from ruminating thoughts if that's what you are referring to?

Shrooms are very peaceful! I use them often instead of opiates now actually when I have the feeling I wanna kind of nod out/meditate. Much healthier than eating vicodin to cope with stress/decompress lol.

I am low motivation/type B/ADHD/whatever label you wanna slap on me, so I personally like the stimulant like kick LSD has. Smoother and more creative than amphetamine or coffee.

Its apples & oranges really. Potatoes and carrots, all good options, no accounting for taste.

if I took slightly over a gram this past Wednesday am I going to have to much tolerance to try a .5 grams starting today as a microdose experiment then continue that dose for 2 more days?(not back to back days obviously)

Maybe just a little, hard to tell how much, but it shouldn't have that much impact. Half a gram of normal cubensis is on the high side for a microdose but you do whatever you feel like of course :)

Anxiety and depressive feelings won't magically disappear through microdosing but you might be able to approach everything from a different perspective, which could lead to some insights and a regained appreciation for a lot of things and life in general, certainly not a cure all though. Good luck :)

does anyone know how long it would take to feel the effects from a mushroom microdose? Like do people see improvements in a few days?

I realize there might not be a cure but can it treat it like antidepressants?

No, you can't. Antidepressants work way different.

Like I said, psychedelics can give you a change in perception, of yourself, your problems and your environment, which can be very valuable but not the guaranteed 'end'.
To be honest, I don't know what real depression is like, and I've never followed a strict microdosing regimen for long enough so I'm not the best to talk about this, but over time some people have had lots of success with it. Feel free to share about your experiences when you actually take some (like 0.1-0.2g at the start) but maybe keep it to 1 thread ;)

I caved in and started an antidepressant prescription. tbh the real reason i wanted to try microdosing was not only to manage my anxiety but work my way up into tripping. not sure if it works like that?
