I cant, wont I dunno its just so hard never in my life have I found something so irresistable.. How do people quit, cold turkey?? I cant even go 12 hours without it before I start cracking up

if it wasn't for a friend sorting me out I would be screwed as well because I'm skint and they have made me realise how a tiny bit can hold you all day and how much I'm wasting but now I'm at the point where I'm just bored of this life all my friends have big cars, kids, families I would never dream of bring a
xchild into this world when I'm like this I have seen first hand what drug addicts parents damage can do I always wanted to have kids when I was younger heck I planned to have my own place, a job a kid with a loving woman by the time i was 18, I'm 22 now

Dont worry 22 is still young, you have lots of time still. Good luck x

You are so young , but still need help. Can you go to Rehab, and learn to brake the cycle?? Detox for a short stay to get clean, past acute withdrawals?
Or just find a NA meeting everyday that fits your schedule and go?

Find a Suboxone doctor. You can find one near you on the Suboxone website. It can be used to get you off opiates and then you taper off the Suboxone or it can be used for opioid maintenance. This is how I use it. I've been on it for 10 years and I can honestly say it saved my life. It is like a miracle. If you decide to try it, you'll hear it described that way a lot. I thought I was the only one who said that until I entered the world of Suboxone and found it's quite a common description. It will eliminate, not lessen, eliminate your withdrawal within an hour. It also binds much more strongly than true opioids to the receptors in your brain. This means if you have Suboxone in you system (and it takes about 2 weeks to get out) and you take an opioid like oxycodone, hydrocodone, oral dilaudid, you won't get high - you won't feel anything. NOTE - I CANNOT SPEAK TO IV USE AS IT WAS NEVER MY THING.
I have a severe dependency on opioids so I'll be on Suboxone for the rest of my life but I don't care. I haven't had a craving for an opioid since I took my first Suboxone.
Give it a try, what have you got to lose? Oh yeah...your life.

Good luck to you!
Z.

Like others said Buprenorphine is a good idea and so is Methadone. I would use both of these medications for a short term, just to get through the withdrawal. Once you taper down to zero amount of heroin, if you really want to stay opiate free, get Naltraxone implants.

Go with kratom. Bupe is imo a harder addiction to break physically. If your not mentally into quitting then the physical addiction doesn't matter as much. But in my personal experience I would never have gotten onto suboxone if I had known how long it would take from last dose to normal (7 days for my first hour of sleep, and 6 weeks or so to "normal") I understand for some people that are in very dangerous use patterns that bupe can be a life saver, and many use kratom to just quit sub. However, and some members wont like this, but I think if your wd isn't painful then you wont quit for good. There is no such thing as an easy taper or wd. You buy the ticket, you take the ride. One of the biggest driving factors in my staying opiate free was the spectre of withdrawal hanging over any potential use. A motivation that I got taught again years later when I got some Percocet for some dental work. 4 days on em and I wd'd. I was unbelievably pissed off....and that was a good thing. A great reminder why I stopped.

Kratom is very capable of easing 80% of your wd symptoms, is legal most everywhere, cheap and helps with the boredom/depression aspect. Obviously yes you can become dependent on kratom, but the wd are not nearly as bad, nor do they last as long as traditional opiates. But it works as a great distraction to go about daily life while suffering just the right amount, so as to cement into your brain that you cannot use opiates anymore. Rewire your noggin!

@Jopeth , thanks” However, and some members wont like this, but I think if your wd isn't painful then you wont quit for good. There is no such thing as an easy taper or wd. You buy the ticket, you take the ride. ”
This is very important for me to come to terms with!!
I would Like to get Clean
But do Not want to pay any price for it 😣😣😣

feeling like shit is the easy part. lol having some personal responsibility is the difficult part. Often times the reason many escape with opiates is a subconscious excuse to not be responsible. its a built in excuse for failure.

but it is totally doable. Be free kids (y)(y)(y)

I have a bundle a day habit..will kratom work for me? Ive heard that if you have a bad habit that the amount of kratom you need to help will make you sick. I'm scared to death of kicking but I really fuckin need to. Any advice on making withdrawal more comfortable would REALLY be appreciated

That's a good habit. Your tolerance will be high. Theres only one way to find out. If it doesn't work then so be it, but if it does work it might save you a good amount of grief. In my head it seems like itd have to help somewhat. Id wait until in full wd though 24 hours.

That is a good habit ! How long have been on that amount ? What is your ROA ? IV?
Gabapentin works well 300mgs 3/day
Indica helps
Kraton is said to be Wonderful?? I don't have any experience yet ( but I plan on looking for some?) I do not know what or where is good to get it from? I live out in the country, but there is always Google , and I bet even Amazon sells it , has Everything else :p

SCUMCHRIST in addition to kratom, loperamide and all of your vitamins. I know that's cheesey but it is true. Give your body all of the resources needed to heal itself and return to base.
One trick that my friend showed me, which I had actually forgotten, was get one of those things that hang on your door that you do pull ups from. hang from this. it will stretch you out and alleviate the restlessness. Hot showers are awesome as well. As often as you can.

and yes, if able cannabis is obviously amazing. the strain ak47 helped me at day three rest and eat.

The last thing I used I do have some reservations about. From a pure comfort perspective benzodiazapines are really really helpful, but carry with them the same specter of dependence as opiates. Except that they are more dangerous to quit, so use very sparingly. Some people like alcohol too. for the first few days it made my legs hurt worse and worsened stomach problems. but after being unwillingly awake for 4 days an hour of drunk sleep is still an hour of sleep. Drink responsibly though, as the hangover could be bad enough to make you go back to using.

There comes a time where using looks less attractive...its all about perspective. Once you've been in wd for a week, and are tempted to use, think about how much work you've put into stopping. is it worth it to go back to square one? or is it worth it to tough it out for the next week.

Remember, if you do this right, you only have to do it once!! Good luck

Addiction means obsession, right. Your brain wants that, he knows that X makes him forget memories, past-trauma events, life itself. Escapism. You need to find your escape in something else. I think we should have a F.A.Q stating this.

Shady I agree. One of the best things I did was find novel ways of distracting myself. Whether that be with video games, or sex, or even temporary alcohol use (this is a stickler. I know a couple of former opiate/suboxone addicts that became alcoholics. Replacement therapy doesn't work in the long run, but can provide enough of a distraction to break the habits and rewire that noggin .

Yep. That's why I don't answer these kind of questions, they are repetitive and i'm tired of hearing them.

Sorry I dont agree that Kratom withdrawal is easy. Ive kicked oxy and Kratom and I would say its pretty close. Kratom is horrible withdrawal as well.

Early recovery. Is about tapper, not full blown use!,
Only use enough to Stop the sickness Once it starts, then lower your dose and spread it out over no more than a week and jump off.
We are trying to get OFF a substance Not Replace it 🙈

what are Naltraxone implants mate?
