Tbf that takes the Congress, and it is currently full of liberal neo-conservatives and liberal neo-liberals resisting any reforms that might buck what they are paid to enforce. I think this will be the concentration of trumps second term, bc Warren/sanders will make it the premiere issue, with good reason. Trump/ Rand did manage to get rid of the middleclass-hurting individual mandate and allow competition across state lines tbf. All presidents promise big in their campaigns, but unlike almost every president in recent history Drumpt has delivered. Sorry it autocorrected to ‘Drumpt’ and I think it’s funny to keep it :) if it’s in violation I’ll edit and change.

You shouldn't promise what you know you may be unable to deliver. Not that it helps that the idiot public keep imagining that presidents have legislative power, or that presidential candidates keep reenforcing that perception.

Anyone can write an unsubstantiated list though. Where's the evidence behind it?
 
Gotta love how absolutely anything good or bad that happens remotely related to government or economy is because of the president for their supporters and detractors. Even if it's nothing to do with them or reflects trends predating their their presidency. Hell, something could be improving since before the current president, then the presidents fuck ups slow down the improving trend, and their supporters would still call it their success.

None of this is exclusive to Trump of course.

Agree which is why I personally am quick to criticize the president when he blatantly fucks up or does something I disagree with. However I've noticed a few people here who I assume fancy themselves as aware/fair/objective but who will never in a million years admit he's doing some good. I understand someone wanting him to fail because if he succeeds and turns out to be a good guy then not only were they wrong about him but they will also look totally ignorant/uninformed/unable to decipher the news themselves. It's shame that ego trumps (heh) the common good but at least if there's nuclear war they can say "hey I told you so".

Consider them fake but for the normies they are a legitimate news station.
And you are completely free to fact-check anything on the list yourself. But I recommend perusing some more objective, less left-leaning news organizations that often report incorrectly, spin anything into a negative or just ignore issues in general.
 
^ CNN is fake/biased news for sure. Kittykat5 tried to use buzzfeed as a legitimate source yesterday, and it reminded me of how far TDS has pushed some folks. Yes Jess/swillow not everything positive can be attributed to him, just as everything negative can’t be. For example if you look at black unemployment you see it’s been steadily dropping since 09, and there are other similar examples. Just look at some of his obvious promises kept which got a ton of push back like ripping up the Iran “deal”, getting out of TPP, pulling out of the Paris climate accord, renegotiating NAFTA, etc etc.
 
The whole "fake news" thing strikes again. It's what I said before, it's no longer possible to debate because each side disbelieves the other side's sources of information. Most of the "fact-checking" sources I see Trumpers post to support their assertions don't strike me as objective at all. All public trust is undermined. It's frustrating. I don't blindly trust news sources such as CNN, BBC, etc, but I trust them more than Fox and a bunch of random pundit sites because their views seem far more reasonable to me, generally. I don't think any of us is getting the full trust, but I do believe there is a concerted effort to blast people with propaganda to get them to blindly support the current Republican/Trump scheme to transform our country into a "by the rich people, for the rich people" sort of place. And it's working better than I would have believed was possible.

Also it's worth repeating, the policy changes enacted by the president and congress take years, sometimes quite a few years, to fully come to fruition. Whatever effect Trump and Republicans are having right now will not really be felt for years. What we're seeing now is largely the result of the last presidency and congress during that time. So, much of Trumpers' lauding of their dear leader's effect on things is quite misguided and ironically is the "fallout" from the last presidency. Not to say Trump's policies haven't had a direct effect on our lives, they have and are starting to. But you can't put unemployment rates, healthy stock market, and things like that on him. Those things simply do not move that quickly.

then why did he say it would be done "quickly" and "easily" and on "day one" of his presidency? the conclusion is obvious.

on the jobs creation point, here's a graph of job change since 1945:



as i indicated, job growth under trump is actually slower than it was diring the last 6 years of obama's to terms. the growth under trump is great but to suggest it's noteworthy or exception is simply denying an objective truth.

saying that a single source is always something or never something else is ridiculous.

if you get news from multiple sources and corroborate claims, then you can focus on their veracity instead of these moronic, trumpian generalisations like "cnn is fake".

while i agree that items like this are campaign promises that have been kept, it's a mistake to use them as evidence of "all the good he's doing" because that's subjective and only good if you think they're good. to me, many of those are evidence of all the bad he's doing.

virtually none of that post was subjective opinion. it was mostly counterpoint with sources to substantiate.

but humour me. prove that the figures i provided on job creation from the bureau of labor stats were 'skewed'?

@jgrimez, you complain that we never praise trump for anything? well i praise him for this.

this is a great, bipartisan initiative. obama's inaction on marijuana disappointed me greatly - he talked about treating it like cigarettes or alcohol but his administration never championed the change i hoped it would.

Agreed, if he ends the federal ban on marijuana I will give him credit where credit is due.

Yeah one of the things Trump is actually really good at is pissing off our allies. If the measure of a successful presidency is the level of alienation on the world stage achieved, I'd have to call him one of the greatest of all time.
