Not true. People say that about France and the rest of Europe too, but I pay less income tax here than I ever did in the US. Once you account for federal, state, local, medicare, medicade, SSI, and the mandatory Obama-are which amounts to a tax on breathing american air, Americans pay more taxes than many other countries. I'm sure I'm even forgetting a few taxes in that list. And what do Americans get in return for paying among the highest tax rate in the world? Oh, and you are taxed yet again by another 10 percetn in most states in America whenever you buy something, even if it is a basic thing like food.
Have fun with our level of income tax.

Jeezus...how does clinton have so many delegates? shes at 1001 right now. things aren't looking good for bernie. I don't know how anyone can support hillary. the whole machine seems rigged. she wins the nomination, she wins the election. fucking fuck. this whole election is going to push people over the edge. what a system we have going here.

Because of the damn super delegates...which is a stupid fucking concept. You don't have to actually win them through votes...they just go with whoever they want. It's a stupid system the democrats have as I guess basically a safeguard against somone the establishment really doesn't want. Just like in the electoral college in the general elections....rigged ass system.

"" That and Name Recognition. The media adores the old lady and has been describing her as the "inevitable" candidate since 1992. In the last 2 years, NYTimes and others have published 100s of articles glorifying her and ignoring her many flaws. In a democracy like America, the voting public is so stupid that their ability to recognize a name is how they make their choice, given the candidate is a member of their favorite party. They don't follow her political or professional actions and quickly forget the bad things she has done. Its as shallow as that.

^^^yeah, that's true, I guarantee there are alot of hillary supporters who have no idea what her actual views/stances are.

Question: How do you confuse a Hillary supporter?
Answer: Ask them to name one positive thing she has done during her political career.

^ really? burying your head in the sand doesn't mean that nothing happened e.g. heroes at home act; survivor benefits; work on schip; work on help for 9/11 first responders;

My point was how many of her supporters can actually name one good thing she has done, those included as a reason they support her? Did you even know without having to look it up?
My bigger point is that if her supporters were to remove their heads from the sand and actually scrutinize her past, they would find that despite a few feel-good causes she has latched onto in order to promote her candidacy (kind of like the political advantages of a calculated marriage with somebody in power), she is so flawed and low of character that they could not in good conscience vote for her.

the ones i gave you were off the top of my head. i've been hearing this a lot lately - how hillary has done nothing - so i've done some reading.

that's just one negative characterization of her record.

people choose the candidate they're voting for based on all sorts of criteria. i find it incredible that anybody would even consider voting for a bigoted liar like trump but lots of people are going to do it...

I still can't believe Hilary has such an agenda she has thrown all dignity out the window. Repeatedly ignoring the rape charges bill has gotten through the years and even sticking around after the adultery that occurred in the White House. I do not see how women respect her much less how she has any self respect. But I suppose everyone has their flaws. I hope Bernie sticks around incase she gets charges for the crimes she has committed. If she was a republican she would be in jail right now for sure IMO

Well said.

No but seriously, I can't understand how someone like you who is clearly an intellectual supports Hillary. I could not live with myself if I knew I had played a part in electing her.

For years, the candidates have been corporatist Left versus corporatist Right. Most people pick one of the two. For me, choosing the lesser of two evils is no longer acceptable. This time around I can’t even tell who is worse.

The idea of Trump being a voice of the people is preposterous.

In my mind, he is basically an over-hyped windbag of duplicity, willful ignorance, and hate.

I feel as many in this thread do, and I don't know if Clinton is a better or worse alternative.

I just caught the first half or so of the debate. It was pure entertainment. Everyone rolling at Trump hard. Regular gang mugging. He was taking some hits 4 sure.

I just looked up Ted Cruez.. Born in Canada? wtf aeehh?

Marco are you going to pull off being the first republican homosexual president? Actually its probably been done before.

Holy shit, I was just about to say this exact thing. A Trump presidency would be much better for this country in the long run. Think of all the local and state offices that would flip...

I'm not the only one that feels this way. The #BernieOrBust movement has been gaining a lot of traction lately. Almost 60,000 registered Democrats and Independents have already signed a pledge to either abstain from the general election, vote for the Green Party candidate, or vote for Trump if the DNC forces a Hillary nomination. People are sick of being forced to vote for a candidate they don't even like because their party's official decided that's who should get the nomination. It's the "nuclear option" and it's really the only leverage the everyday voter has against the DNC. Either let the voters decide who to nominate or risk a Republican Whitehouse. It's that simple. Those 500+ Superdelegates that have already pledged to Hillary have until June to change their mind. And if they don't then Trump is probably going to be the next president. It's an internal revolution in the Democratic party and people are finally saying enough is enough, we want control back from the scandalous establishment.

Hillary is shiesty as fuck. She had her husband campaigning at polling sites in Massachusetts which is a 3rd degree felony. Her campaign is currently facing a racketeering lawsuit, she's currently being investigated by the FBI for breaches of National Security, and her campaign was caught bringing mentally disabled and handicapped senior citizens to the Massachusetts caucuses, registering them, and telling them to vote for her even though they had no idea what was really going on.

She is the embodiment of the establishment. Her and her husband have literally decades of experience, friends, contacts, and tricks to manipulate an election to win even if the majority of the country doesn't support her. What Bush did to beat Gore pales in comparison to the magic Hillary and her friends in the DNC are pulling to get her the Democratic nomination.

But this time, the voters aren't having it. They're not blind to what's going on and they're fed the fuck up. We're getting our political revolution regardless of whether it's under President Sanders or President Trump. If we have to, we'll salt the fucking Earth and ruin the Democratic party if that's what it takes to break the age-old cycle of manipulation by the leaders of the party to force the nominees THEY want.

Yep I am of a similar mindset only on the other side. Id vote for Bernie over an establishment republican all day if Scalia hadnt died. Seeing Mitt Romney all butt throttled today only made me want to vote for Trumps dumb ass more.

When I see a person being granted immunity, I see a narc. She might be going down hard.

That's the only reason I even mentioned it. It's been dragging on for so long I wouldn't even have considered it relevant at this point until I read about the FBI giving immunity today to her ex-staffer that set up her private server. They would never do that "just because." The bitch is going down.

Her campaign is doing whatever they can to garner support. They've apparently bought out the country's largest LGBT lobbying group who are now endorsing Clinton as the sole champion of gay and lesbian rights. I've kept watch today and have seen literally thousands of people that had "liked" their Facebook page jump ship. This afternoon they were losing about 1 follower per second after they posted this "infograph":

Notice anything missing? They've completely sold out and they're not even trying to hide it. Bernie was fighting for Transgender rights when he was Mayor of Burlington Vermont in 1983, LONG before the vast majority of this country even knew what Transgender meant. He organized the city's first pride parade and passed a law banning housing discrimination against Trans citizens. TWO YEARS BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN.

The fact that this organization is backing Hillary and completely leaving Bernie out of the discussion is one of the most offensive things I've seen during this campaign. I keep refreshing their Facebook page every few hours just to revel in the posts from everyday people posting screenshots of their request to stop their monthly donations to the Human Rights Campaign.

No organization is safe from the revolution. Thousands of people have attacked Planned Parenthood on their social media pages and vowed to stop donating to them when they came out in support of Hillary. This is the first time in American history organizations are suffering real consequences for backing a candidate simply because they have more clout. A petition started 24 hours ago to force the head of the DNC to resign already has 100,000 signatures. Registered Democrats are vowing to change their party affiliation to Independent by the tens-of-thousands. Shit is getting real. I'm just glad I'm alive to witness such a crazy movement.

This is the first time in my entire life that both staunch Republicans and staunch Democrats have real common ground. The GOP is doing everything in their power to make sure Trump doesn't get the Republican nomination and the DNC is doing everything in their power to make sure Sanders doesn't get the Democratic nomination. The agendas on both sides are pretty clear. We all want to fuck the system and this is the first time, at least in my lifetime, that there's enough support to do so.

Trump vs. Clinton = Vote for Trump

Anyone vs. Sanders = Vote for Sanders

We all have to be willing to vote for the "enemy" to make this shit happen. If hundreds-of-thousands of Democrats are willing to vote for Trump over Hillary, Republicans have to be willing to vote for Sanders if he wins the Democratic nomination. This election has become about much more than the differences between Republicans and Dems. It's become about ripping control of our government out of the hands of the political elite. Trump doesn't give a shit about pushing the whole "pro-life, anti-gay-marriage" Republican agenda just like Sanders doesn't give a shit about pushing the whole liberal "pro-choice, gay marriage" agenda. They're both on a much more meta mission, to shake their political parties to the fucking core and make them hide in a corner.
