Benzos Mixing Valium and alcohol

Hi all, so I recently (2 days ago) switched from 3mg xanax to 30mg diazepam and I feel much better anxiety wise.
When I mix xanax and alcohol I tend to completely blackout and can get aggressive some times (I usually drink quite heavily).
I've drank on valium in the past (on 20mg dose) and it was different, much nicer experience/buzz to it. Strangely enough I've been feeling quite sedated since switching back to Diazepam (which is weird, didn't have this effect on the 20mg OR when I took 3-4mg xanax/day.
Anyway, I have a going away party to attend tomorrow and I'm slightly worried I'll black out and do something retarded. Would it be a better approach to skip my dose for the day and maybe have a cup of coffee before I begin drinking?
Last time I got drunk I could only get shitty street vals, and took 30 "10mg roches" the night before as I didn't want to take xanax while drinking. I did black out butonly after 14 beers or so, also I didn't take any benzos that day just the "300mg" the night before. I need to take these meds daily as I have chronic anxiety without them. But what should I do? Skip a day and drink instead?

Some of the biggest mistakes I've made in my life were nights I decided to mix benzos and alcohol. The worst part about it is you have to wake up in the morning and ask what happened, because you don't know...

personally I would dose the day before. It's what i do to this day. Take like 20mg the day before. SInce valium acts so long in the body, you'd be chill the whole next day too and you won;t need to drink as much.

OR if you wish to dose on the day, take no more than 10-15mg and leave the pills home. This way you're less likely to blackout because of the Valium but more liely to end up blacking out from reckless booze consumption.

So dose day before, drink as much as u want the next day
Dose on the day and cut drinking in half

Or don't listen to me and do what you wish and learn on your own. I used to do the same from benzos n booze.

The secret is to dose and leave the pills home and cut drinking in half.

My friend asked me for a valium during carnival and I gave him 10mg. He woke up that night in the big house for driving through people drunk af. $10000 bail

But he drank too much. He didn't cut his drinking in half.

It's either you over-indulge in one or the other or both. The ones with self-control can dose the same day and drink all day and remember everything. Like me

If you're an addict this is much easier said than done.

I'm in the same boat, the last time I drank (after the 300mg streetvals the night before) was extremely embaressing for me, I really don't want to repeat that.

@PotatoMan
I have also done similar things in the past while mixing benzos and alcohol. Weird thing is I NEVER feel the Diazepam wearing off, I've been up since 12am today, it's almost 6pm and I still feel calm as fuck...Maybe 20mg tonight and no benzos, just alcohol tomorrow would be my best bet? I can't really leave my tabs at home (kind of a phobia of mine, panic attack in public, no benzos etc)

But with diazepam in the past I found myself tobe fine after even 8 drinks or so, I usually blackout at some point after that. Xanax is AWFUL to mix with alcohol in my experience, diazepam is a lot more euphoric. I justreally don't want to make an ass of myself as alot of friends etc are attenting

I'm an addict, but I don't feel withdrawals from diazepam for a very long time, like maybe very very mild W/Ds after 16 hours or so of not dosing. With xanax I was in w/ds every 6-7 hours

holding your pills is a bad idea.

I used to be the plug. And when you're the plug you come to finessing.

I'd go up in clubs with 20-50 Xanax 0.5mg pills and wake up with 1-5 not knowing what could of possibly happened to them.
trust me, you won't get a panic attack. Diazepam has a long half-life.

@siq - this is why we do not allow ourselves to get addicted to pharms.

All the benzos do the same thing in the brain, they just last for different lengths of time. I know its easy to think different benzos produce different feelings, but they don't, its just in your head.

Untrue, different benzos work on different sub receptors. Take for example temazepam...why can i take 20mg and keep euphoric and sleepy and take 79-100mg diazwpam with little to know effect, Benzos all act in a similar fashion, but the effects differ, and I'm not talking about the duration of action

yeah that's like saying all opies feel the same and it's all in your head. They're different chemicals from the same drug family.

Mixing anything with alcohol is usually a bad idea. Drinking alcohol itself is not wise. I try not to generalize but booze in my mind is literally the devil.

I'll never understand how that poison is so popular.

Because it's socially acceptable. There are no legal ramifications for adults who drink, only for the things they do under the influence.

As someone who's been on benzos for years, most of the time mixing them with alcohol, I can tell you that it's always a bad idea. Even if you don't black out and do something stupid, you are introducing a secondary GABAergic and driving up your tolerance. Before you know it, your tolerance that has been steady at a certain level starts shooting up and you're drinking more and more to compensate for it or you're eating more and more pills. My experience has been that both tend to happen.

There is also the rebound effect that alcohol tends to have on anxiety that makes it worse, not to mention the effects on your heart that can cause you to become uncomfortable with drinking a little and end in you drinking a lot.

Alcohol potentiates benzos and vice versa, its a really bad idea and mixing benzos and alcohol increases the likelihood of aggression and manic behavior under the influence.

Of course. Same thing or actually worse if you mix it with opiates. Tolerance will go up quite quickly. To say the least.

Don't mix alcohol with Valium, or other benzos. Be careful people die this way, or black out for long periods of time.

Large amounts of alcohol and bentos, not a good combo especially if you black out, then anything could happen. Try and cut back on the alcohol.

is that the only way you could die, from choking on vomit? Or is there a toxicity level so high that it could shut down some organs?

I heard its nearly impossible for a benzo overdose to kill you?

Respiratory Depression. Choking on vomit is common with sleeping on your back after booze or other nauseating intoxicants.

But it is nearly impossible to consume the amount of mg's required to OD on a benzo by it self.

With alcohol the risk of respiratory depression from high doses of both booze and benzos increase.

You'd either choke n vomit in your sleep or stop breathing in your sleep with this kind of OD.
