First, let me say that I am not referring to choosing n the sense of suicide, I am talking about God (or whatever u believe in) allowing an indvidual at the brink of death to choose whether they want to live or die. Suicide undermines the purpose that God may have for you, thus undermining the cosmic apsect I am speaking of.

In my opinion, God does not do this for everyone. He only allows those that do an angellic deed and come close to death the chance to choose whether to continue life,or embrace death. I also think he extend this offer to those who truly want to sub consciously die but He has a greater plan for them but cannot interfere with their freewill (not consciously though bc of the simplicity of the conscious mind when compared to the sub conscious mind). These ppl end up having some kind of experience during their NDE that might change their sub conscious mind, allowing for Gods purpose to continue,so in this instance He gives them the chance to exercise their freewill and choose life or death.

What do yall think? Do we ever get the chance from God(or like I said b4,whatever u believe in) to pick life or death? Also, what is yalls logic on why this happens?

if it is all according to God's plan, then we don't choose anything. ever.

This is true, really depends on ur outlook of Free Will though. I feel that God's plan is not always perfect, think of God as Imperfect perfection and vice versa. There is room for a margin of error n his plan which is why I feel he gives this chance to some. A good illustration of this margin of error can be witnessed n the Yin-yang as well. Of course, this is just my take on it.

Whats ur take on that L2R and its relation to the original post? Loved the strong yet short answer btw ^.^ Its always hard for me to answer anything n a short, yet strong manner, unless I answer with a question or if its something random,lol...

As someone who has read a great deal about NDEs over the years, I don't think you can make any conclusions about what the choice or lack thereof means when it comes to "returning". The vast majority of cases I read involve no choice at all; the person either spontaneously goes back or is sent back against their will. Supposedly, child NDEs more frequently involve a choice; indeed, I knew someone in high school who'd had an NDE when she was young in which she recalled being given the option to live or die.

But, whatevs; I'm just some guy.

Very good points...Never thought of it as just happening to children...What age range do u consider a child? My brother when he died was 12yrs old, which is still somewhat of a child I think bc they are still fairly innocent and have not been introduced to the majority of negative things n this world. I have had NDE's at the age of 13(Only 10 days after my birthday),15-16(spent one NDE on the days prior thru the days after my birthday),and most recently at 22.

So, are you equating God's imperfections as the crack in which our free will manifests? is that the devil to you?

as bel said, we can only learn about this stuff anecdotally, and that is a poor way to assess anything really.

Essentially that is what I am saying, that God's imperfections is the crack thru which our free will manifests,HOWEVER, this is only because he allows it to escape(part of the concept of perfect inperfections). He allows it bc without free will God would have created us for nothing. That isn't my idea of the Devil though. To me the Devil is the opposite of God and seperate entity. Opposite in the sense of their ideals. God is happiness, creation(yes,God does destroy but new life comes from His destruction), and love while the Devil is saddness, destruction(no life comes back from his destruction) and hate. God is the perfect perfection of "good" to the point He transcends the concept(I like to call the perfection of good Light). The Devil is the perfect perfection of "evil" (the only perfection he has, which I call Dark).

Ya though,I realize that we may never know the answers to these questions while on this plane, but that is what philosophy and spirituality is about, attempting to answer the unanswerable questions and making people think and expand their minds ^.^

I would consider a person a child n the range from birth- to at least 14 yrs,I wud think 15 wud b pushing it, cause by then teenage corruption is likely to have set in leaving 0 childhood innocence. So that wud give me one NDE in childhood by my own definition of a child, lol. Ever came across anyone else in ur readings who has experienced multiple NDE's with similar circumstances (as in being able to choose, being taught a lesson then forced back, and then shear stupidity)?

And thats messed up! His own daughter!? I wud say that is worse than Freud marrying his cousin...lol

i once had a huge dxm trip on CCCs mixed with robotussin syrup, so enough CPM to kill me and enough DXM to put me in the fourth plateau. I distinctly remember blacking out after smoking a bong and entering some strange world. I was on a bus with an older lady and she put me through 3 tests to see if i would pass for death, i didn't pass the last one, at which point i returned to consciousness.

so basically when you die you have to meet certain requirements in order to die, if these are not met, and the old lady on the bus isn't satisfied you are stuck living. That is how it goes.

Whilst the question is interesting I think there is a more crucial one: Do we all have the same experience at death? There is a vast range of NDE reports, and those from whom have actually died on the operating table and then come back etc.. and they don't all converge to just one experience.

Perhaps there is no democracy in heaven.. perhaps we don't all have the same death experience.

There are always exit points in life; points in the process of learning where you are given the choice over whether or not you want to stay, or terminate the lesson and pick up in another place and time. The choice is not really made by ego, it's often a "higher self" choice like in near death experiences. The choice is made based on a comprehensive understanding of the over-soul, if you want to call it that.

It's not so much a matter of free will vs. determinism. It's a combination of both. You co-create with your own blue print. You're here to learn certain lessons but you can accomplish that through an infinite number of avenues. No matter where you are on this planet or what you're doing, if a lesson is supposed to be learned then life will keep putting it in your face until you learn it. You can choose to go anywhere, to do anything, to be anyone, but those lessons will show up.

Sometimes the learning is done and that's when you leave. Sometimes, for whatever reason, this configuration is not working out and you're offered an exit, but it's a choice that takes your entire being to make.

I've had near death experiences on more than one occasion, and have been revived. Each time made my purpose in life more clear, not less.

Suicide is mostly ego wishing to off itself. It's a shame because ego isn't real in the first place, it's just a projection. The more you become attached to ego the more you suffer. When you let go of ego, life (and its intended lessons) tend to flow better. Sometimes it takes being offered an exit point to realize that. Sometimes it takes trying to die to realize how valuable continuing to live can be. Life's a paradox like that.

I think for all practical purposes its best to assume theres no god

god made you so capable so you can help yourself

immortality is possible, harder question is if this universe is going to end and if so can we prevent it,if its stable or we can prevent it,infinite immortality is possible
