Let's talk about eggs

thanks for clearing that up, Didnt have a clue about the food colouring for the yolks, ill get higher quality eggs from now on

Good lad :) It's fucking appalling to see the conditions they are forced to live in. They often get their beaks chopped off to stop them pecking themselves to death from the severe stress and agitation they must endure through these absolutely horrific conditions.

Eggs are extremely good for you, but if you buy cheap shitty eggs, then you're missing out on the fantastic benefits eggs lend to us.

being a city dweller, i don't really have much of an option for visiting farms. recently a workmate started selling eggs from her own chickens (n3o, you know her), and damn, these things have bright orange yolks and the flavour is drastically different.

yums the word

I get cheap eggs, I think I will get more expensive eggs from now on (any particular brands I should get?). I like raw egg yolks, and the egg whites are like boogers when they're not cooked, so I avoid them. I like the egg whites fried or in soups, the egg yolks I prefer them raw. Its all about the taste to me. I was thinking about getting a chicken at home so I could have fresh eggs, but I don't know how hard it is to raise one.

Eggs are so tough to eat sometimes. I love the health benefit of them though. I prefer to make mine scrambled with a lot of salsa and hot sauce.

It's difficult to eat them other ways, unless I take a bite of toast with each bite of egg. I usually do that with them scrambled though also.

Really the only question on my mind is ..... why?

Why cook an omelette in a plastic bag with boiling water when you could just cook it, y'know....normally, quicker and without any boiling plastics in the equation?

^ I've never heard of that method before. But my guess is that it's a healthier way of making an omelette, as you don't need to oil or butter the pan.

But it sounds like way too much effort to me.

Rated E, you could be right about why someone might do that, but someone might be way off course since Oil is one of the healthiest parts of making an egg! Use a little rapeseed oil to up the ante for health-giving properties, it's got plenty of Omega oils, or you could use Rice Bran oil for a healthy dose of Vit E.
The world has a strange, unfounded aversion to fat for some reason. Fat doesn't make us fat. Idiocy does.

^What?

That's how we always made eggs while camping and didn't have the luxury of a stove and pan. I don't see why you would do it though at home.

You guys made me crave eggs so I had a two egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast this morning. Nom. I do feel like I have more energy, don't know if that's placebo or not but either way it works! Eggcelent!!! :D

^ the protein helps balance your blood sugar. a higher protein to carb ratio also releases more dopamine and acts more like a stimulant.
