I didn't know where to post this thread (pretty sure I will get more traffic here instead of healthy living).

I didn't consider this at first, but I get a craving for sugar foods, I thought it was after dosing on a drug, but I really think I am addicted to sugary foods. This didn't used to be the case, and I avoided them since they were unhealthy. Now I get a lot of cravings for them, and would like to get help on how to avoid it.

I've been dosing on MXE (heard it depletes glucose), opiates as well (which may be the reason), and weed (which makes me eat everything in a 10ft radius). This combination probably makes me want more sugar, but yesterday even when I was on Adderall I craved ice cream. I finished almost an entire quart of ice cream in 3 days by myself. I don't think this is healthy, so I was wondering how do I stop myself from intaking so much sugar and how to deal with it.

I know opiates lower blood sugar so I don't know what is the best way to get glucose or the healthiest way to deal with it. I take all these substances and they all make me want to eat, and I normally avoid sugar in general, but I think I have gotten addicted to sugar and these drugs don't help.

sugar is known to increase synaptic levels of dopamine. most omnivores and herbivores love sweets (fruits, berries, ect..), go figure...

Cravings for sugar are very common. I personally find that if I get through a few days with little to no sugary foods, then the cravings decrease and eventually disappear. Something you could do is only have sweets on one day of the week, your 'cheat' day. Like Sunday.

Biotin is apparently good for maintaining sugar levels.
Coconut oil is good as well.
Chlorella stabilizes blood sugar.

I found this to. its also true of hunger in general. hunger is often triggered by eating more. more you eat, more you're hungry.

LOL I go through 1.5 quarts of Mayfield french vanilla in 3 days somewhat regularly. Honestly I can't beat the sugar cravings(low blood sugar+ an opioid addiction) but the best way I've found to manage is sugary drinks, as they satisy sugar cravings faster and more efficiently than anything else, and help to lessen the intake of sugary foods.(people don't realize it, but 8 oz of Coca-Cola has almost twice as much sugar as 8oz of ice cream...)

^^ That's a great idea, pal. It's exactly what I do when I get a sugar craving - have an apple and a banana. Totally gets rid of it. I would highly recommend doing this, OP

I'm not sure I see the logic in this... the best way to deal with sugar cravings is to eat twice as much sugar?

^unless it only serves to increase your temptations :P

fruit, hot tea with honey, yogurt, real fruit popsicles are all better alternatives i use

or cinnamon

One really good way to satisfy a sugar craving is to make chai tea with stevia in it.

That's probably because it's got an imperial cock-load of sugar in it.

Unless you guys have some sort of different Chai drink over yonder? The only Chai I've seen here is basically as bad as hot chocolate - tonnes of sugar with some spices and nice labelling to make it seem innocent.

Yea I don't understand it either... I don't feel satiated in the same way from consuming liquids as I do from consuming solids. I avoid sugary drinks altogether, so that I can afford myself the luxury of eating sugary foods from time to time (ie. I'd rather enjoy my sugar, than "get it over and done with" in a drink.)

Only problem is, sugar just makes me want more sugar. Once I start eating chocolate, I usually binge on it until I feel sick. Then I feel guilty about it.

I think my chocolate cravings are cue-based. They seem to come on after dinner or when I'm hanging out with friends. I might try the apple substitution thing.

I started buying dried mango slices at the local fruit stand. They are way too good to be healthy but eat them constantly.

almost all food cravings are the result of improperly balanced diet. the mind interprets messages from the stomach and bowels a bit awkwardly, but craving carbohydrates is usually the result of a mineral and vitamin deficiency. this does not imply eat pharmaceutical vitamins, it does imply eat more raw vegetables.

By Chai Tea I mean a chai teabag. No sugar, just tea blended with some spices.
