Taste from IV shot

I've found some information regarding why one would get a taste in the back of their throat/mouth after doing a shot but I haven't been able to find much info on why some people don't experience this. Anyone have any thoughts or sources?

Because the drug is coursing through your blood stream and your tongue contains blood vessels like every other part of the body. Please, in the future, keep your material concerned with Harm Reduction and not just medical curiosities. We have to clean up these HR threads.

I personally think Drug Culture would be suited for this thread, but this has been discussed in various threads that had IV use related to them so idk if moving it would have any purpose at all, closing it seems more fit.
