or when I have Promethazine with Codeine?

It's definitely noticeably, and I don't believe it's the Codeine. I think I read an article online about Promethazine's effects on hearing before but I can't find it.

I found Chlorpheniramine doesn't seem to have any auditory changes/distortion either.

Promethazine with Codeine is often associated with Chopped & Screwed / Chopped & Slowed music and I believe this is where a lot of it all stems from including the appreciation for the music when on the drug.

I think hearing changes like "pressure" or ringing are caused by changes in blood pressure.

As for music appreciation I would imagine it has something to do with the already pleasurable effects of the drug and the novelty of the music working together.
