Fuck this world.

How are you doing Trev?
Have you been able to find another doctor?
Did you go to the Methadone clinic?

Just worried you are still suffering so badly without any help still.
Let us know how you are when you can.
I worry about you being left in that kind of pain for very long.

I have a pain specialist / pain management doctor and he does treat my pain.
Keep trying. There is someone who will help you.
You are having a harder time probably due to your age.
Be careful what and how you speak to them. They sometimes mistake real chronic pain patients for someone not in pain who just wants to get high or whatever.

I know it is hard to think straight when you are in that much pain and it is hard to be delicate.
You just want to grab them and scream "HELP ME!"

Yeah, that last car accident did aggravate your pain level I am sure!
And...why did you crash your car?? because you were in horrific withdrawals from their poison anti-depressants!
It is ridiculous. Hang in there.

Hey painful one, I appreciate you checking in, and no, I haven't forgot about you.

I saw a different pain management doctor a couple weeks ago. That was my second pm doc I've seen in about a month. He gave me a script of tramadol, but told me don't expect him to write me a script for any more pain meds. I went with my mom since it looks like I'm not just trying to score narcotics to abuse or get high. She was trying to convince him to help me out, but he was not having it. When he came into the room he already had an agenda and knew exactly why I was there. Throughout the appointment he was trying to convince me how bad pain meds are for you and how much safer antidepressants were, but I kept arguing against it. No doubt i came off looking like an addict, but the care I'm getting is absolutely ridiculous. On my after visit summary he put if I go to any other PM doctors or to the er to not give me pain meds.

I really dont care anymore. I've tried to do the responsible thing and see PAIN MANAGEMENT to manage my pain, but they're all too scared to prescribe narcotics, not to mention I got profiled because of my age. I found a new connect so whatever. Might cost me more money, but at least I can go through the day and function. I bought 20 oxy 30s and cut them into halves. I'll grab more when she gets more but that was all she had left. I have to self medicate because doctors dont help me.

I have not gone to a methadone clinic yet because I have a decent connect, and i dont want to make a year commitment. As one of the other users mentioned if I go to the methadone clinic then I cannot take the street drugs. If my plug ever disappears or something and I have no other plugs than I would go to the clinic.

Thanks for checking in, take care.

Hey buddy, I know you've been there from the beginning when I started this thread.

I'm about 2 months post op, and I'm doing a lot better than I was I would say 2 weeks post op, but still in a lot of pain. The rehab is about a year or possibly longer so I still have a long road ahead of me. I've been pretty open minded as far as what my doctors want me to do, but my pain management doctor wanted me to see a pain psychologist, and I just dont see the point of that. There going to try and convince me that the pain is in my head??? I looked up what the do and that basically is what they try to do.

I will keep you guys updated as my health progresses hopefully.

Btw, if you dont mind be asking what type of chronic pain are you currently dealing with? And how are you coping with it?

Thanks for all the support!

Hi honey!!! Me smiling and waving at you. ; )

Been there done that, to everything you are going through.

Post fusions my pcp also suggested ssri's/snri/s instead of pain meds. I was beyond insulted. I flat out told him I'm in PAIN and that I don't have mental illness. So I didn't take any thankfully.

Really try hard to keep standing up for yourself. I find it a struggle myself, but I gave in a couple of times and went off my pain management voluntarily because I was sick of the stress and struggle and stigma I endured to even get my rx pain meds.

They also tried to refer me to the pain shrink. I said no. And yes, that is what they do. Then they tried to send me to some pain rehab clinic. I said no.

But I started damaging my liver with tylenol when I went off my pain meds, so I went back on. Now they will have to fight me to get me off now.

I have several herniated discs presently, one at your level that you just had fused, and several others in the cervical area.

I have had fusions.

I have degenerative disc disease.

Hang in there, I really do understand and care what happens to you, and to say I empathize with you would be a gross understatement.

I hope you can stay out of pain but if things get worse, I would say go the methadone route.

Much love and support and feel free to pm me anytime.

Hugs,
your friend,
Ash.

I remember for years my "good" doctor tried every non-narcotic medication you can think of. It got to the point of being just down right ridiculous. I told her "narcotics have always worked for my pain in the past." I also told her "I'm not trying to score drugs, I'm just being completely honest with you here." She told me that narcotics was a last-ditch effort.

And then that wonderful / nightmare day finally came to ruin my life forever... She asked me how I was doing on the new medication she wrote me 2 weeks ago and I told her "I'm still in a lot pain. I didn't feel any relief at all... I never do." She then took a loud deep breath and said "I really don't think anything is going to help your pain now... besides narcotics." I was so happy but I couldn't look to happy in front of her (starts break dancing and C walkin') so I had to keep my excitement buried very deep inside. Then I said "Well, if you think it will help, I'll try it." And then she dropped a bomb and blew up my new dreams. She said "I going to write you a prescription for codeine... Lol Yeah, I know... Inside I was like fuuuuuuuck... So I had to think VERY quickly that way she didn't think I was just making up a lie on the spot... I said "I'm allergic to codeine bad." She then said "Ohhh, OK, I'll write you a prescription for hydrocodone then... Awwwww mission accomplished lol.

Pharmacy, Starbucks frappe... Here I come baby... It's on like Donkey Kong!

If my doctor would have said "I'm going to start you off at hydrocodone 2.5 mg first." I probably would have killed her lol

PS...
Methadone and frappes are str8 up Godly son!
