Hi -. I'm not sure if I am allowed to ask this, but am going for it anyway!

I am currently taking naltrexone to help me overcome alcohol problems.
It is working great, my problem is, I am also prescribed zapain (30mg codience / 500 paracetamol) for pain. I also take it to help me sleep.
I can now not take the codiene as it is blocked by the Nalrexone
My question is - is there a drug that will produce the same feelings that is not an opiod and will not be blocked by the Nalrexone?

Thank you

^ benzos are nothing like opioids.

To answer the question - no. Opioids won't work when you're on naltrexone because it prevents them from being able to bind to opioid receptor sites.
There are not really any drugs that have similar effects to opiates/opioids, except in really vague terms - but i wouldnt compare benzos to codeine at all, personally.

I'm sorry we don't do drug recommendation threads, i'm closing this. Tell your doctor you need to be put on a non opioid drug for pain.

Please PM me if you have any issues.
