PM Box Full

Somebody sent me a PM asking me a question but I cannot reply because their box is full. The reply I want to send is not terribly important so it is no big deal I cannot reply but I do not want to seem rude by not responding.

So, I am wondering: When I attempt to send this person a PM but then it gets rejected because their box is full then are they at least notified that this has occurred? Or do they remain oblivious to the fact they can not receive PMs unless they intentionally check and notice they are at capacity?

You can sometimes email people through their profile too. Or just leave a message somewhere they will see asking to empty pm's.
