It's time to make change happen. Legalize CANNABIS

I remember some skeptics back in 2012 in Colorado.

I laughed at them on my way to the voting booth.

Difference is they're idiots because a state like that is guaranteed to legalize.

If you need more evidence, look at a map of Oregon's counties, red or blue, then look at which counties have banned rec sales (some I think even ban med sales). It's pretty much the same map with red voting counties being the ones that ban rec sales lol. Same thing applies on a state level, believe it or not.

Actually, let me do it for you because it's hilarious how close they are to being identical.

I counted:

-9 red counties allowing rec sales
-7 blue counties allowing rec sales
-1 grey county allowing rec sales

Looks like the reds are winning in your state as far as allowing rec sales.

you're welcome to come into the lounge

you don't have to hide here

I've only ever posted in there once or twice a month and I think I'mma keep it that way, shit's too crazy for me most of the time.

I wanted to started a civilized discussion in here before taking it to a larger place like the lounge. I also may have started the thread slightly heavy handed. I however am not apologizing. BL is a fraction of "the people", but overall, there is more complaining (about cannabis being illegal) then actual voting, by said complainers, to change the law.

Last time I checked, it was "We the people".

There are plenty of folks that are just fine with people not voting. You can figure out who they might be. I mean what happens if you cut into somenes profits??? Things like that.

There are people that have only seen the negative side of drugs(yes Cannabis is technically a drug). Brainwashed by years of misinformation.

What do those people need? Education.

Education comes from places like NORML and smaller grassroots groups.

Whoever mentioned Colorado, I like what I know of their style of legalization. My favorite product so far is the beginner dose packs. Talk about dialing in your usage.

Ok so what got the ball rolling over there. How did the US go from illegal to the first legal learn me. As for simple voting for Cannabis is at this time just not possible. I am greenlighter statis concerning politics but I believe the law can only be changed by politics. How did that go in simple terms as the political systems are not interchangeable. I would have never guessed of all country's USA would be the first. You were first were you?

So my homeland is in a tight spot. Tell me.

emkee, here in the US our politics put the power in the hands of the people. That is why it is so important to sign petitions (or make your own petition if you don't already have one in your state) to put legal weed on the ballet and then vote once the times comes.

There isn't one exact right way to do it, but there is a common thread that many states have been using based on how Colorado came to first legalize it in 2012. I remember voting on an initiative way back in 2005 that would allow people to posses up to one ounce without the fear of going to jail. This initiative was based on the fact that marijuana is safer than alcohol. The marijuana is safer than alcohol movement became much larger and was the main topic of our legalization in 2012. It was a SUCCESS. Since then, many states including Michigan (who is on the ballot this year for legal weed) have been using this same argument to convince people that legal weed is the right thing to do. Again, there are TONS of reasons to legalize weed, but this is one that happens to have caught on. ymmv.

Thank's for the info. The only way to find out is to get to know my political system. So have a deeper look into this all is what I will do. But there are allready people deep into this. So supporting those groups seems an logical step.

Is Initiative-100 in the pamplet above if the results are in favor binding? Nice these poster's were on the street,

Canada is already legalized it. I know that in some cities in US medical cannabis is already legalized too, e.g.in LA. There is a special marijuana dispensary service http://allweed.us/catalog/flower/ where everyone can order large variety of seeds and strains. I used this service once in Downtown Los Angeles, they have quick delivery service. At this rate I don't see anything wrong with the legalization of cannabis in the near future.

Yes, there are many already deep into it. The deeper you dig, the more you will find.

I handed out similar flyers in 2012, and I believe I made a difference in addition to voting.

The last ounce of weed I bought was less than the cost of a video game (after taxes!). It's killer stuff too.

stop the hypocrisy

alcohol is more addictive than heroine... ---stop the hypocrisy ---stop the infantile trick about cannabis being a step up to worse drugs, omg ---it's just a conservative political pawn on the table, absurd

I'm ok with stopping after a few drinks. I'm also ok with stopping after a few hits.

I deserve a choice to do so as an adult.

Ummmm Canada just legalized recreational pot lol, I believe 2nd County in the world to do so. I know a few states in US but a very long way to go lol

Our liquor stores are already setting up for sale! :) Government will tax the heck out of it , just like our liquor I just hope government/ Trudeau does something good with it like fixing our health care system.

Yes we have free health care but it?s far from perfect, under funded and stretched to its limit. We went from top 10 countries to 20-30 or so ( don?t quote me please)
To see a neurologist in my province it takes 10-19 months waiting. ! And PEI another small province actually has none and my neurologist spends weeks there but our government isn?t giving enough encentive for doctors to stay. They go to US wherre they can choose their own price lol.

My new family doctor was given an offer of signing a 4 year contract to stay and government will pay his student loans which are in million dollar range.

Government should be dropping off bags of money to specialists anything to keep them here. Last 10 years Canada has basically been a stopping station for doctors to get experience then leave to greener pastures.

Canada has the smallest doctor to patient ratio in the world. Even developing nations like Cuba are beating us. Despite this Canada still has one of the highest life expectancy.

I spoke to friend in New Jersey who said if you get picked up with any weed you go to jail Same if you had heroine.?

Canada?s entire country and all provinces legalized it US has several states that did. Difference is the entire nation.. must be the Netharlands who first did, you can legally possess heroin, and anything there lol , Government even opened shelters for users to have access to clean needles, food, resourcesa and help.
Vancouver does some same things just much more under funded.

US has the highest amount of encarerated people in the world, most for having a bit of weed on them.
The US still considers weed in the same class of illegal narcotic as heroin and the law treats the pot smoker same as the heroin addict. Albeit many states are changing but it is a tough battle when US has for profit privatized prisons run by business companies who make money when they give police departments and towns perks for arresting and charging a guy for a g of weed on him

What is crazy about a intellectual discussion about politics and current issues?

I agree US citizens can actually make a living growing and selling on behalf of the government, Canada will have said amount of grow ops run by beurocrats for beurocrats; so much red tape oversight a private farmer would rather work at Tim Hortons lol

Canadians didn?t vote our government just went at with each other and logic won... kinda just heard about it and it happened lol
The law was supposed to include the citizens the right to possess and grow 4 personal plants at ones residence.:.
Sadly they reversed and cut it out last minute but we fellow Canadians were scratching our heads about how it would or could be enforced and regulated so it was not a huge surprise

Basically our liberal majority government getting all us liberal people all horny about their big change but most could see it was just a ploy to get youth liberal all rieled up over our sexy prime minister haha got to admit he is a good looking man
