How important is it to use Citric Acid one CWE?

I was reading a paper on the subject and it cited some internet forum source (it didn't specify where had they gotten the protocol) and it said you have to add citric acid tablets to the mix to ensure that the acetylsalicilic acid would not precipitate (ie turn into it's salt form).
My question is if the same applies to acetaminophen?
