Type of semi-fictional biography, based on the book series of Edward St Aubyn - detailing the traumatic abuse of his childhood and it's resulting impact on his life.
Often witty, comical; also dark, depressing. A beautifully acted and very genuine potrayal; an ode to the author; his survival and recovery from the depths of hell.

Really phenomenal series imho.

Just binged Patrick Melrose and loved it, I thought Benedict Cumberbatch was stellar as well as Hugo Weaving playing a dark role. The first episodes did have me writhing in my seat a little with the speedballs and the "Dull Horse syringe" but very well done.

'stellar', for sure - totally agreed, JA.

It was a beautifully portrayed fictional account of very real, stuff...generally loath to trends on t.v. channel marketing but this turned out to be a very, special piece of drama that imbued significance in so many spheres.

The acting was phenomenal - direction, other visuals, and sound were lovely.

Glad you enjoyed, also, JA.;) Was feeling a bit alienated that more BL'ers weren't exposed to it. Despite its high-brow, seeming pretense - it's very relatable.

l trailer, potraying the 1st series.
