    1250mph! of course it's sped up

    we're 35 years on from the date of that clip and the fastest recorded speed of a (conventional, wheeled passenger) train is about 350mph by france's tgv.

    Hehe, I was gonna say, the shots of people inside the train make it look like normal train-fast. That would be crazy if you were moving in a train going as fast as the sped-up part!

    Well, if you were going that fast in reality, you wouldn't feel it. You only feel acceleration (e.g g-force, "g"s). Speed vs acceleration. A little off-topic, but this sort of thought experiment is where Einstein started off with his theory of relativity. Interesting reading in case you want.
