Why is heroin called "boy" and cocaine called "girl"?

They go together so well.

(Not implying anything about gay people, which I feel like I have to mention lest someone take it the wrong way.)

All dealers are sercretly pedophiles.... If not it'd be "man" "woman".

I think it's the generalization that men like downers, and women like uppers, which isn't really even that true.

^Sounds about right.

I've never heard this, but people frequently attribute male and female qualities, or names, to drugs. Especially feminine.

MDMA = Molly, Eve, Mandy
LSD = Lucy
MDA = Adam
Salvia divinorum = Sally, Maria
Cannabis = Mary Jane

Right around here we call heroin Ron, short for the old hood pronunciation herron.

"White girl" has been slang for coke since forever. The white part is pretty self-explanatory but I'm not sure why girl, possibly because drug slang tends to refer to drugs as girls in general? Like MDMA is Mandy/Molly, LSD is Lucy, weed is Mary Jane, etc.

No idea why heroin is "boy" though. Possibly because it's brown so it's just the opposite of "white girl"? Just a pure guess though.

Yeah, White girl or white lady has been said since the 70s I think for coke. But good question

Meth = "fast", hair-on = "slow"

Those are the biggies where I'm from ;)
