It's also not likely to be active, Shulgin did look at the homologs of MD(M)A with +1 carbon (so the 3-aminobutane analog) and they were inactive.

@adder: I did not know that.. I would place the dotted line 'away from the paper' going from broad to slim (because of.. you know.. actual perspective)

Gueuze lambic is brilliant.. it's like the beer equivalent of sourdough, I really want to brew it but I probably should get a better handle on more regular beers first. I also love kriek (cherry beer) but it's a bit fruity to really qualify as beer.

I second that, can you please start posting more than random names/quotes? This is a science subform, not an art subforum. Out of deference to the late Dr. Shulgin you could call compounds out of PiHKAL/TiHKAL by their assigned names rather than inventing new ones. And at the very least mention the logic behind some of the substitutions and having some SAR predictons would be nice.

This kind of stuff would be better either for your blog or for a new "Chemical Structure Art" thread. This thread could be renamed "Share A Molecule" or something.

Talking Points:

-IV Crystalline Penicillin G has a tough time crossing the lipophilic blood brain barrier (the pia matter and dura matter) because of its highly water soluble carboxyl group. By using the methyl carboxylate moiety (a carbomethoxy or R-CO2Me), the problem is solved.

-The amphetamine side chain is known by my own experience to quell the spirochetes and is very similar to a the phenyl acetamide of PEN G.

-Penicillanic acid, which is sourced from rotten cantelopes IIRC, is not usually bacteriocidal without the PEA side chain.
