Targin 20/10 past exp... OK to use?

Due to forgetting to book a gp appointment I only have some Targin 20/10 that expired in 2015... to get me through the week.

Safe to take? Assuming it's the same as codeine I'm thinking at worst it may have lost some of its effectiveness.

Update: Nothing wrong with them. Like a fresh non expired pill. Rapt!!
