Creatine as a nootropic

Hi all,

Long term MDMA comdown sufferer here.

I recently purchased some creatine pills because I have heard of its noortropic cabilitites. However, I don't know exactly how much I should take in order to reap the brain benefits. I really want to improve my memory and recover faster.


What I'd like to know is how many mg should I take daily and if this will help my brain recover faster?


I also exercise 4-5 times a week if that matters.

I've never used creatine but a cursory search suggested dosage for cognition would be within the range of three to five grams per day.
 
In this study, they used 4 x 5g per day (a 'loading' phase). I'd take that dose for a couple of weeks, then halve it to 2 x 5g or even 2 x 3g for longer-term use.

Its dirt cheap so any marginal increase in cognitive function along with the physical benefits is worth it.
 
Indeed. I actually put both the creatine and BCAA powder in my giant water jug at work.

Weeks later I read the studies regarding the cognitive benefits of creatine.

I knew there was a reason I was thiking so clearly...jk (kinda)
