I?m a middle age guy, mid 40?s, been partying for 10 years.. Used to do blow every Sat night.. Eventually stopped that due to hard recovery as I get older.. Then was turned onto Ecstasy for past couple yrs.. Again, only on Sat. nights usually in a night club downtown with large groups of other partiers.. Then stopped that mid last year when I found Ketamine.. After K there was no point in anything else for me.. again, just weekend worrier..
**AND THEN**
This past NYE I took an ecstasy tab (Not sure which one, was a red BAR) at the club and experienced extreme tenseness in my chest, back, and mostly deep in my left armpit.. I really thought I was having a heart attack.. Due to embarrassment I went home to calm down and took an Ambien (my prescribed sleeping pill) and the pain went away within minutes.. The next morning the same symptoms returned.. Of course Like everyone says, once you feel that feeling you become scared, and it seems to get worse.. My girl takes Xanax for anxiety so I took 1/4 of the bar and the feelings went away again.. This went on for weeks at least 3 times a day so I decided to go to the hospital. They did an ECG, Blood work, chest x-ray, All the test came back NEG and they told me I'm suffering from anxiety that brings on panic attacks. Now I know I never had this problem until after I took that pill that night and the fact that I work out in the gym daily, run 3 miles, 4 times a week.. and don?t stress about anything UNTIL now of course, Seems odd to just come down with this?

Even though the Doctors told me I'm completely healthy, better than most... I still 3 months later get tension in and around my chest and the deep pain in my left armpit DAILY.. If I take a Xanax it goes away.. I'm still running daily, working out, STOPPED taking any drugs (other than the Ambien for sleep and Xanax to relieve the chest pains.. But my problem persists.. Could this be something like serotonin syndrome? Was it the LUCK of the night that NYE was the final straw so to speak? Any advice of other things I should be looking into, are there specialists that know about this kinds of toxicity situations from long term drug use.. Because I can?t find any.. They all just spit out the pamphlet info and refer me to NA and say stress.. but my GUT is telling me something is happening, maybe not my heart but something isn?t right.. all suggestion stories, ideas, warnings MUCH appreciated.. Thanks in advanced guys,,

I think it?s due to anxiety. Looks like you had a pretty heavy experience and that made you more sensitive to anxiety.
1. You?re experiencing those symptoms
2. These give anxiety
3. Anxiety get?s worse
4. Symptoms get worse

Stay away from coffee and drugs for a while, do some meditation, try to get stress levels at a low point and if needed use the xanax.

I?ve seen this many times and you?ll recover pretty quick if you follow these rules. Don?t feed the anxiety.

Berendje - Thanks for the reply.. I'm definitely NEVER doing pills again.. I haven't touched anything since NYE.. I kept thinking that surely it couldn't be my heart since I RUN so much and am really fit physically.. That's why I started exploring/researching the toxicity issues recently.. I asked my doctor and the Doctors at the hospital about serotonin syndrome or anything like that and they all just gave me a BLANK look and I could tell they had probably never heard of it.. However you are SPOT on in the order the pain and cycle start and get worse.. I'll def. follow those suggestions and give meditation a shot, as for avoiding stress... Might have to LOSE a girlfriend to Achieve that.. And very well might! ;) Thanks for all your help mate..
Anyone who knows some good articles that might relate to my current situation, please pass them on to me here so I can try and educate myself as much as possible..
I might go one further and visit a chiropractor for an alignment as I remember hearing a lecture from a cardiologist recently on heart issues being caused by nerve issues due to misalignment...Called the autonomic nervous system., controls all breathing and heart rate etc, can be damaged and cause these false kinds of symptoms in patients...

Same as you bro...
I also thought I was having a heart attack, i also went to a hospital because I felt a pain in my heart. And this was also 3 months ago!!!
But i didnt take MDMA, i took 2CB.
Currently I feel nothing in my heart, but I feel some muscles vibrating involuntarily... but it is much easier to deal with because I know this is due to anxiety.
Don't worry about your heart!!! When you have anxiety the muscles contract involuntarily, mainly the muscles of the chest area... but these symptoms cant kill you, in fact do not even damage your heart in the short or long term, believe me! I've been there
Even if your mind tells you again and again that you have a problem, or tries to convince you that this time is "different", ignore it (yes, of course this is not easy when you have a pain 24\7 in this particular area) but that pain slowly disappears, in my case about 2 weeks (I've noticed that the pain reappears if I get drunk)

you are not alone bro!
Stay positive
