Hi so I took 0.3g of MDMA one and a half months ago. During the comedown I had a scare and my heart was 130 for ages. Had tests done including ECG which all came back as normal!

Since this I?ve had good days and bad days in which I freak out about my heart and get a pit feeling in my stomach. I record my heart rate on my Fitbit and it is 65-70 resting. My sleep patterns are completely normal.

I have times where my heart rate will be really elevated for a few hours because of this horrible thing!! Almost 110 bpm!! I hate this anxious pit in my stomach! I?m not stopping it from letting me do things like socialise but it?s always there and I hate it so much.

I?m just so scared! The main fear is that I?ve done some permanent damage and I just want some reassurance and success stories that I will go back to normal! I?m 19 :( please help.

Hi there!

Lot's of people have the exact symptoms you describe. They will pass.

The best advice I can give you is to not overanalyze your feelings. If you constantly ask yourself if you're still anxious because of xtc use, the answer is usually "yes!". Don't ask yourself that question. Just ignore it as best as you can.

And don't use any drugs for the time being...

Hey there OP,

This is anxiety, nothing to be worried about. The racing heart, the pit in the stomach, classic harmless anxiety. Although it can be distressing before you get used to it! Some people with anxiety seem to hyperfocus on their bodily sensations.

Try not to worry, practice mindfulness meditation and let this pass.

Might even be mild ptsd or something from your anxiety & fear of what happened. You'll be just fine though - I'm 18 and have done quite a bit more than .3 in a night and have never had any problems at all aside from staying up a bit too late.

If you think you'll continue doing MDMA in the future maybe don't take as much as you did and really don't worry about it. If it's real MDMA there really isn't anything to worry about when taking it in the lower doses you described. :)

TDS -> MED

I’m not sure “just do drugs” is the most practical of advice... 8)

Though it’s probably a good idea to at least take a break until healing has sufficiently taken place. If they’re able to do that, then I agree they probably don’t have anything to worry about.

Do you think it will definitely pass? And if so do you know around how long it takes for this sort of anxiety to go away?

I did 300mg of mdma every weekend, sometimes twice a weekend, for a pretty good span of time, few months. I never really felt bad symptoms except for memory, I just hit 6 month with no use and most symptoms are gone. However, my memory is sometimes spotty, and honestly I dont think that will ever go away. Months seem like a long time but eventually it will add up, exercise is the most important part of recovery, proven to help neurons recover, also eat healthy, you will feel better very quick.

MDMA is great, but when I think about it now it makes me sick haha.

Is this serious... I was used to see a bunch of long term affliction in the MDMA sub, now this is even the 6 first post wich are speaking about some form of LTC  . Do anyone still take this shit ?

I had a very similar experience. I already a fear of heart attacks before I went into and due to my heart beating fast during the come down I was scared. I haven't done ecstasy since. I've smoked weed and that gave me panic attacks for a while but gradually smoking a little bit of weed every now and then it is starting to go away. I also had about 5-6s ecgs. A heart scan 5-6 blood pressures. All fine. It's in your head. I also had counselling because I clearly have an irrational fear of heart attack anyways. It helped I'm on my way. Maybe one day I'll do ecstasy again
