Hello guys and gals, I've been a member of this forum for a while, getting all kinds of different information for years, but just recently I've decided to create an account and today to start writing.
I have been taking benzos for about 2 - 3 years started with alprazolam powder and tried a CT from that one time when I ran out. Suffered through 3 months of pure hell, then I started taking benzos again. About half a year ago I decided to search for professional support on properly quitting benzos (tapering), the clinic got me on clonazepam instead of xanax, but didn't stick to the tapering plan, rather they dropped the dose for 25% when they found other drugs in my system and when they found coke for the 2nd time i told them they are unprofessional and they dropped me from the clinic. Meanwhile they got me using buprenorphine, because it's supposed to be easier to quit benzos with bupe.. lmao what a bunch of schumcks I thought to myself when they dropped me from the clinic.

Well I tried to continue benzo tapering at the methadone / bupe clinic and they told me that I am clean because I only took 2mg in the last 3 days (I told the therapist this was because my script ran out not because I was able to taper to 2mg and that I've been taking from 4-8 mg daily). She didn't listen and told me she got another patient and that I need to leave.. I left and stayed in the waiting room for about 10 minutes thinking about what I will do, and then I noticed there was no other patient, she had to work with and then I realized all these institutions are just playing me and getting government money out of my pain and that the only way to quit drugs is to stop taking drugs. I wanted to taper for the sake of my well being and because I don't want to suffer PAWS for years, but I guess there's no other way...

I was on bupe or suboxone (however you wish to call it) since the beginning of this year and we went from 4-16mg. I once tried tapering and came down to 10mg but then the nurses realized i was pocketing the pills and I started taking the whole 16mg again.. Well Im fed up with these therapists and doctors and specialists and I decided to go cold turkey.

I was also on a coke binge for the past 3 weeks because I wasn't able to function with the subs and k-pins..
Today is the 2nd day I didn't take my dose and I'm already feeling lethargy and depression just thinking about what is in store for me, but hey, I could go on for years with these subs and k-pins, trying to find a good therapist but this is all BS..
Luckily for me I have some tramadol stored away for the pain I'm about to experience and to help me go through first few days..

It's about 48hrs since my last dose of benzos and bupe. I am feeling lethargic, depressed AF and some pain in the joints atm, I had some flashbacks (you could call this hallucinations) a few hrs ago. I will try to update my condition daily
Love you all.

It sounds like your clinics weren't very helpful. That's a lot of Sub to CT from, but if you weren't on it too long, it won't be as bad. Also, I believe, from years of experience and from hearing what others have said, that the ceiling effect is way lower than 16 mg, and that doses that high are just because doctors don't understand the drug very well. I think the ceiling's at between 4 and 8 mg, although that's just my opinion--certainly no higher than 12. So you aren't really coming off 16; you're coming off whatever the ceiling is. JMO, though...

Tramadol will help you through the withdrawals from the bupe, although I don't have much advice about coming off the benzoes. I quit a pretty bad Xanax habit with a very fast taper, and I didn't sleep for weeks. I hear there are some newer things that help for sleep, but the only thing that works for me is melatonin, the herbal supplement, and it doesn't work that well. I tried Ambien but it shot huge holes in my memory. In fact, I got busted for driving on it, and don't even remember driving. This was long ago, though, and I've been clean and sober, although still on Sub maintenance, for almost 9 years. I still don't sleep well, which is why I post in the middle of the night.;)

Thanks for the reference material! I am planning on buying a pound of kratom ASAP, until I get it, tramadol will do. I know it's an opiate but it helps with sleep and aching immensely. And since I'm coming off benzos and opiates at the same time and I will continue taking tramadol until I get my kratom.

I have completely no energy, I didn't even take my dog out yesterday, I'm feeling like shit & my whole body hurts. When I tried to go to sleep yesterday I started twitching like crazy and I have no idea what that could be.

I will try to get some exercise today and I hope I will sleep as good as I did yesterday. I'm taking 150mg tramadol in the morning and 150mg at night. This dose doesn't get me high, but I found it helps with the withdrawal symptoms.

BigJon poly drug W/D is it's own special brand of hell but what worries me is the sudden stopping of the benzos. The bupe W/D will make you feel like crap but the Klonipin W/D has the potential to cause seizures. Being a long acting benzo you have a few days at best before you reach critical mass where the danger really increases but Tramadol also reduces the seizure threshold increasing the likelihood of trouble. The combination of stopping the Klonopin and adding Tramadol is the perfect storm to cause a seizure and end up worse off than just the W/D alone, which is no walk in the park to start with.

I strongly recommend finding a doctor or even an A&E or Emergency room and get checked out, tell them what's going on and hopefully leave with a small supply of Chlordiazepoxide, Diazepam or some long acting of benzodiazepine to use for a taper plan. Beside the risk of seizure, it's easier to slay one beast at a time and increase your chances of being truly successful at riding yourself of dependence. I know telling you to return to the "system" and not take the only relief you have at the moment sounds like a BS idea, but ask a medical professional about stopping benzos CT or with very little taper and see what they say. I implore you to look into some options to help get over this benzo issue before starting in with the Tramadol. I'm really pulling for you BigJon.<3

First day here. Hope it's not going to bad. I been using this site for years, love sitting on here for hours at a time learning everything about opiates and benzos. Though I mostly just have been taking Kratom basically every day for like the last four or more years or a little longer except for 18 months I just did in Prison (damn meth). Anyway, Tramodol can give seizures but it's extremely rare under (I believe) 600mgs, so over 6 of the 50's. You should definitely be fine taking the small amount you are. Now, idk how much you know about kratom but the have alot of different strains. To help with both coming off of benzos and bupe, by far the best stain..would be BALI of course ( I really recommend the RED BALI). Because any Bali is by far the most relaxing and the best for anxiety and at the same time is the very most opiate like. With Bali you should be just fine..way better. They have other things for anxiety too like blue lotus and other things but the good stuff is only online that u have ever found (also have not had much experience with that stuff yet). Ifor you don't mind drinking that helps for me. Even using 10 vikes a day with a few xanax, I'd still be great with a couple trams, Bali kratom (2 tablespoons from a good bender to start out a pretty decent dose but not get you nauseous), especially with a nice pull off a bottle if Anxiety is getting bad. Good vendors i go to I ket Kilos of kratom for $80-120. Anyway, I really know my stuff well so that's what I recommend to feel better man. You'll get through this just be positive and you will feel way better soon. P.s. And of course be safe & responsible as possible. Life is not all about getting high lol

This.

Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and don't cold turkey benzos.

PAWs are what comes after the initial(acute) withdrawal, so post-acute withdrawal. With benzos they say 6-24months depending on usage. I'm around 12 months myself and finally starting to feel my personality really come back. It's not that I didnt have personality before but it seemed like the spark just wasn't there. Everything seemed mundane and I couldn't really get excited or initiate myself into a lot of conversations. Was/am dealing with some depression as well. Things like that are to be expected. Sobriety in the first month is not the same as sobriety in the 12th or 24th month. Things should be getting better over time rather than right away usually. Don't let this discourage you, it's more subtle than it sounds. It comes and goes, but seems to be coming more than going lately.

I'm feeling worse by the day.. I know about kratom and that it can help with opiate wd's but not benzo. I will try to get some benzos from my doc. I can sleep due to tramadol, but I feel like shit throughout the whole day and I've started to get panic attacks. I take 150mg when I wake up and around 150mg when I go to sleep.. The reason I wanted to quit benzos by tapering is PAWS and when I start thinking about not beeing me for a whole year again I start freaking out.

As the withdrawal symptoms progressed I decided to call my doc and ask her for a bottle of klonopin.. I told her what the situation was, but I had to procure lots of documents, like me being discharged from the rehab clinic and I had to promise to look for professional help. Worst week or two of my life. The bupe situation wasn't nearly as bad as benzo wds.. I was starting to get serious hallucinations, flashbacks, I really thought I will suffer a seizure.. I didn't know if I will survive this cold turkey.. ACtually it was a taper since I used tramadol instead of subs but anyways still not a pleasurable experience.. I got the dead hand syndrome (or something like that I dont know) so that made things worse. I live strictly of making beats and selling them and I havent made any new songs in the last 2 weeks. Anyways I think the bupe is out of my system, but I need to find a shrink or someone who will be able to prescribe me klonopin.. Doctors here in this little European country are really restrained when it gets to prescribing benzodiazepines, but they dont understand I am already hooked. Anyways I hope this is behind me, I'll try to find some help with tapering benzos, if that wont work out, I'll just do it myself. I got a new plug so yeah that's it.

People suffering from benzo dependence - find help if possible, don't go cold turkey, save yourself and your close ones this unnecessary suffering. Do the taper plan and quit when you feel like it. Sorry to say I live in a country where people who were supposed to be specialists told me since I only took 2mg k-pins in the last day, that Im clean. (even tho I was taking up to 8mg daily) WD symptoms excelled to extreme paranoia , hallucinations and Im sure if I wouldnt get this script I would suffer a seizure since it was harder for me to go to sleep and I was twitching like crazy before falling asleep. I hope the pain I went through and what I experienced can serve somebody else as a blueprint.. Suboxone is good only for short term like a week of use until the opiate WDs diminish, then it's up to you and how strong of mindset you have. I realized I am not ready to quit drugs, but I got even bigger respect for them now. I will try to taper from benzos but im back on my bs again, smoking cigs and weed that I quit 4 months ago. I mean even the therapist was telling me im not ready to do this and I thought well only smart thing that came out of your mouth. :p

Anyways much respect to people who CT benzos and all that other shit but I guess I'm just not ready for it. I'm sorry guys. I always was a quitter.. fxckit . Peace & Love to all my comrades and fly ladies out there struggling with the addiction. We'll get through this shit one day. BET
