Herby's Flower Porn Thread

I've had fried alligator that reminded me of a chicken fried steak, and another time I had alligator sausage that was kinda weird, didn't care for it too much.

Crocodiles are scary.

I had to tell people from up naaawth that alligators generally want to be as far away from you as you want to be from them :D though I've seen some monster specimens out in the wild and it is a bit unnerving. Crocodiles are a different story, though they far less tolerant of the cold and are restricted to extreme South Florida. I know I would have a heightened sense of awareness in The Everglades now that man-eating Nile Crocs have been found there.

My fears never seem to be too connected to reality.=D Like the fact that I live in California but have an ever growing fear of water moccasins. I lived in east texas when I was growing up and we lived in a patch of woods with a creek. we saw them--anywhere from 2 feet long to 6 feet when we played by the creek. We were wary, cautious and certainly stayed clear of them (and they of us, like your alligators) but I was not terrified. So somebody explain to me how years later and in a state that does not have them, I have become ridiculously afraid of water I can't see through because there might be a water moccasin in it! Ah, the human mind..gotta love it.:p

. There was a guy in Sanford that caught a 4 footer in Lake Jessup but he got bitten and Fish and Wildlife showed up at the hospital and arrested him. Have you been to Grills Seafood on the Intracoastal in Melbourne? We have one in Orlando now at the marina where my sailboat is. I should try the gator bites again next time I go.
Yes, my biological mother had her wedding reception there, and I've been there a number of times before. There's a few here in Brevard.... I remember one time at work, my lineman and I were eating outside of a 7-Eleven in Windermere and look to my left about 2 feet away it was about a 4-foot baby gator, just chilling, wondering if he's gonna get sum scraps lol!!! We fed him a few bagels from the hotel continental breakfast...
Dude tho, come up Jacksonville/Palatka, Lake George area when them bitches get about 13 to 14 feet long.... The prime size for Tender Vittles is 6-7 ft long in my humble opinion.
Depends on where you get your Gator tail and how well they cook it because sometimes they over fry it and then it's just like chewing on shoe leather. Done right, and that shit should be so tender it's more tender than a light fried chicken breast

Just stay away from their nest and you'll be fine

Somehow I can totally picture you wrangling (and besting) a crocodile. I mean, in the most effeminate, delicate of ways of course Zoe ;)

But the image is there :)

The real question: have you voted in LAVA’s current round of photo contest?! =D

Ha ha ha look at peanut pushing the contest thread. Nicely done Peanut.

More to the point. . . Well, have you voted yet Zoe ;)

WARNING: Explicit flower content ahead!

My girlfriend and I went to the Biltmore yesterday to check out their gardens and greenhouses. She got free tickets from a regular customer of hers who works there. I took a bunch of pictures, and I wanted to share my favorite ones, just for you, herby. :) Some of them have filters on.

I've been to Biltmore, but never in spring. It sure is beautiful and those photos really show it off.

Thanks for sharing ;)

When I was with my ex-wife we used to have season passes for like 4 years. I haven't had one in years and haven't been in years either but it sure it beautiful. The food is also amazing, in a town of great food.

Don't get me started about Ashville!

20 years ago I passed up a chance to transfer to that service section of the company I worked for ( a major medical imaging mfr).

Every single morning I kick myself for passing that opportunity.

Haha yeah I moved here 10 years ago and haven't regretted it... fucking love it here. Even if it's growing scary fast... good for my property value, but I'm hoping so much that it doesn't turn into another shitty gentrified place... at least not totally.

Went for an early morning hike this morning and saw this morning glory in the park's butterfly garden.
